About me

Hello! My name is Meredith and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Services Provider who has been working in this field for 12 years. I have seen a wide array of challenges that we, as humans, experience on a regular basis. While building a strong therapeutic alliance with you, we will determine together how to best navigate whatever brought you to make the courageous decision to seek help.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, it's important to me for us to establish a level of trust. Part of that comes from simply explaining what to expect from counseling sessions with me, and I want to be certain you're aware of your rights. I very much want to get to know more about you and what brought you to therapy in the first place.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are building trust, allowing others to feel safe, seen and heard, and assisting people in finding solutions that are most helpful for them. While I am not of the belief that therapists are here to offer advice, I do believe we are here to work together to find steps to cope with issues that may feel insurmountable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have enjoyed assisting people with a wide variety of life struggles and mental health challenges. I've worked with women and adolescent girls who have eating disorders, men and women who were recently released from prison and taking on the huge task of re-entering society, adults and adolescents who have substance use issues, and people struggling with a wide variety of life changes and mental health diagnoses.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe you are the expert about you and your life. It is my honor to assist you in finding your authentic self and the life you are seeking. Together, we will work toward achieving that.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

When we accept our current circumstances and the things outside of our control, we can then begin to commit to changes that will positively alter the circumstances that are in your control. Through mindfulness and other therapeutic techniques, ACT has been a widely used and successful modality.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our cognition, the way we think, directly affects the way we behave and the choices we make. Life can be hard ,and we become easily overwhelmed. By breaking down each unhelpful thought and behavior pattern into smaller bits, we begin to see that changes are not as overwhelming as we thought.

Experiential Therapy

One type of experiential therapy tool that I find quite useful is role play. When we are able to speak to or speak as someone else (though they are not physically present) there is often a catharsis and insights that wouldn't have been discovered otherwise.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an excellent modality for people who struggle with anxiety and depression, among many other struggles. We learn to slow down, breathe through challenging moments, and use mindfulness to alter our minds and bodies to a calmer state.

I just had my first session and she is honestly as great as most of her reviews state. Meredith is warm and authentic and I’m looking forward to seeing how much work we can do in future sessions.

My name is Megan and I have been through 3 or 4 therapist if not more. I see Meredith at least once every two weeks, sometimes more than that. I am 23 and she’s the best one I’ve been to.
