My name is Tisela Viera. I am a proud Latina Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and have been practicing for over eight years, dedicated to making a meaningful impact in other people's lives. I received my Masters from the University of Central Florida. I help older adults struggling with life transitions, stress and burnout become the best versions of themselves. Being fully bilingual, in Spanish and English, I'm able to connect with a diverse range of people.
In our first few sessions, we'll take a close look at the challenges you're facing and work together to develop a plan that will help the first month, most of my clients experience a gradual reduction in symptoms, with continued improvement beyond that.
As your therapist, I believe that one of the most important things I can offer you is a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I like to think of myself as a person-centered provider, meaning that everything we do together will be based on what works best for you—your needs, your pace, and your goals. Here are a few strengths that I bring to our work together: Empathy and Caring: I genuinely care about helping you through whatever challenges you’re facing. I’m here to listen without judgment and help you explore your feelings, your thoughts, and your experiences. You’ll find that I truly understand and connect with what you're going through. Warmth and Compassion: I believe that therapy works best when there’s trust and warmth between us. I want you to feel comfortable and safe in our sessions, knowing that you can be open without fear of judgment. I’m here to support you, no matter what. Humor: Life can be tough, and sometimes a little bit of humor can help lighten the mood and make things feel more manageable. I like to bring humor into our sessions when it feels right—it’s not about making light of serious topics, but more about using laughter to relieve stress and build a sense of connection. Collaborative Approach: I see therapy as a partnership, where we work together toward your goals. I’m not here to tell you what to do; I’m here to guide you and offer tools that can help you make the changes you want. We’ll take things one step at a time, and I’ll be with you through every part of the journey.
Are you feeling overwhelmed or lost in the midst of life’s transitions? Whether it’s dealing with chronic pain, caregiving, or just the weight of everyday challenges, it’s easy to feel stuck. But it doesn’t have to be that way. As we age, life can become more complicated, leaving many older adults unsure of how to move forward. But ignoring your emotional and physical needs can create lasting stress on both your mind and body. That’s where I come in. Together, we’ll take the first step toward finding clarity, building resilience, and rediscovering a sense of purpose. In a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and create a plan to move you forward—celebrating each victory along the way.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a type of therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. The idea is that sometimes our thoughts can be negative or unhelpful, which can lead to feeling bad or acting in ways that aren’t helpful. CBT helps you learn how to notice these thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ones. CBT is based on the idea that by changing how we think and act, we can feel better and deal with challenges more effectively. It’s very hands-on, and the goal is to give you tools to manage your thoughts and emotions on your own.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a type of therapy where the goal is to help you explore and understand your feelings about change. It's about getting clear on what you want to change in your life, what's holding you back, and finding the motivation to make those changes. It’s not about me telling you what to do or forcing you to make decisions. It’s about having a conversation where we work together, and I help guide you through your own thoughts and feelings to find the motivation that’s already inside you.
