Hello and welcome! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida, with a Master's degree from FGCU. With years of experience, I’m passionate about supporting children, teens, adults, and families through times of crisis. My specialties include EMDR and DBT therapy, both of which help individuals heal from trauma, build emotional resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease. If you're looking for compassionate, personalized support, I'm here to help you on your journey toward healing and growth.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s been going on and what brought you here. We’ll take a closer look at your goals and figure out the best way to move forward together, so you can start feeling better and making progress in a way that works for you.
As a therapist, I bring a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to every session, creating a safe space where you can feel heard and supported. I’m deeply knowledgeable about various therapeutic techniques and draw on my experience to tailor each session to meet your unique needs. My genuine care for your well-being drives me to be patient, understanding, and dedicated to helping you navigate your challenges and achieve lasting growth.
I enjoy working with teens and adults who are struggling with life stressors, including anxiety and depression, and are seeking to reduce their suffering and build a healthier lifestyle. I work with individuals who are motivated to understand their challenges, develop coping strategies, and make lasting changes. Together, we focus on promoting emotional resilience, improving mental well-being, and creating a balanced life that fosters growth and self-discovery.
As a therapist using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in sessions, I guide clients through a structured process designed to help them process traumatic memories. The therapy involves bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements or taps, which helps the brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional charge. I start by helping the client identify a target memory and then use various techniques to access and reprocess it, allowing them to gain new perspectives, heal emotional wounds, and integrate the memory more adaptively. Throughout, I provide a safe, supportive environment to ensure the client feels grounded and empowered.
As a therapist using DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), I help clients learn practical skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and cope with distress. In our sessions, we work on four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I teach clients how to stay present in the moment (mindfulness), tolerate and navigate emotional pain without reacting impulsively (distress tolerance), regulate and reduce overwhelming emotions (emotion regulation), and improve communication and boundary-setting in relationships (interpersonal effectiveness). I also provide support through validation, helping clients accept themselves while also encouraging change. Throughout the process, I emphasize the balance between acceptance and change to promote overall well-being.
As a therapist using CBT, I help clients identify and challenge negative thoughts that contribute to emotional distress and unhelpful behaviors. We work together to reframe these thoughts and develop healthier thinking patterns. I also teach practical skills, such as problem-solving and behavior changes, to help clients manage their emotions and improve their daily lives. The goal is to empower clients to make lasting changes by applying these tools in real-world situations.
I utilize Integrative Therapy frequently to tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs by drawing on techniques from various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness. I combine these approaches to address the client's specific challenges, fostering a holistic healing process that focuses on both their emotional and psychological well-being.
In mindfulness-based therapy, I guide clients to develop greater awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations in the present moment. Through mindfulness techniques such as breathwork and mindful observation, I help clients reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and cultivate a non-judgmental attitude toward their experiences, promoting overall well-being and resilience.
