Jackie Halpern
I’m a therapist who uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical—offering a space where you feel heard while also learning tools you can use in your everyday life. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work toward changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. A core part of my work focuses on value-driven behavior. I’ll help you clarify what truly matters to you and support you in taking steady, intentional steps in that direction—even when anxiety, fear, or painful memories show up. I’m also trained in Prolonged Exposure therapy for PTSD and provide structured, compassionate support for processing trauma at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My goal is to create a collaborative relationship where you feel understood, challenged in helpful ways, and empowered to move toward the life you want.
First session
In our first session, I'll ask a lot of questions about your history and what brought you to therapy so that we can collaborate and develop a treatment plan based on your goals.
Strengths
I excel at helping clients move from insight to action. Using a CBT framework, I’m skilled at identifying patterns, setting clear goals, and developing concrete strategies that lead to meaningful change. I’m comfortable working with avoidance, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms, and I provide steady guidance through evidence-based approaches like Prolonged Exposure.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to help those who are experiencing anxiety, including trauma, depression, and insomnia. I love working with people who are willing to be challenged and work together to make changes in their life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavioral therapy in order to examine how your behaviors are affecting how you feel and think. I also focus on values and trying to work to change your behavior to be in line with your values.
