(she/her)
Hi there! My name is Galia. I am a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, who likes to provide unrushed, holistic treatment. Our sessions will typically last 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your preference. I prefer to combine solution-focused psychotherapy with medication management, as I believe we get further with both chemistry and logic. I am receptive to clients who lean towards med management only or non-medication solutions. I also like to offer medical food treatment with or without psychotropics when appropriate. Data is very important in the subjective world of psychiatry. Therefore, I offer neurotransmitter, genetic, and lab testing to those clients who are data driven as well. As far as specialties, I have experience with the treatment of anxiety disorders to include OCD; mood disorders including bipolar; insomnia; personality disorders; psychosis; substance misuse; ADHD; adjustment disorders; complicated grieving; trauma; self-esteem issues; interpersonal issues; women-mood disorders such as peripartum, perimenstrual, and perimenopausal mood and anxiety disorders; as well as geriatric cognitive and mood disorders. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I believe my most important qualities are empathy, authenticity, and a strong clinical skill set. I enjoy managing all psychiatric symptoms and derive tremendous reward in seeing my clients find relief and reach their potential.
I mostly provide outpatient services to adult/geriatric populations. I have emergency room experience managing ages 4 and older. Recently, I have been selectively extending services to teenagers, and children, 6 years and older. I find all phases of development fascinating.
My practice utilizes an eclectic treatment model that combines evidence-based medication management with individualized psychotherapy. This integrative approach allows for flexibility in addressing the unique needs of each patient, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities—including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic principles, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based interventions. Medication is thoughtfully prescribed to support neurobiological balance, while therapy focuses on insight, coping strategies, and behavioral change. The collaborative use of both modalities ensures a comprehensive path to healing and sustained mental wellness.
