I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s degree from Spring Arbor University including a school social work certification. I have been in the mental health field for seven years and have been working as a high school social worker since 2021 in addition to my private practice. My approach is rooted in collaboration, and I am passionate about coming alongside individuals as they navigate their unique challenges. Together, we work to uncover pathways to joy and overall life satisfaction. I utilize client-centered and evidence-based interventions tailored to meet your specific needs. My goal is to empower clients who may feel a lack of control over their lives, helping them regain agency and build resilience. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to support you in that journey. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental environment where your voice is heard and valued. I am committed to understanding your experiences and working collaboratively to set achievable goals. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, or other life challenges, I am here to provide guidance and support as we explore effective strategies together. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, helping you reclaim your power and find fulfillment in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we will focus on building rapport. I prioritize creating a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll explore what prompted you to schedule the session, allowing us to understand your current challenges and aspirations. We’ll conduct a psychosocial assessment to gather important background information that can inform our work together. This will help us identify your strengths and resources as well. From there, we will collaboratively explore your treatment goals, discussing what you hope to achieve through therapy. Additionally, I will review important policies, including confidentiality, session logistics, and what you can expect from our therapeutic process. My aim is to ensure that you feel informed and empowered as we begin this journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are my clear and open communication style and my kind, non-judgmental approach. I am solution-focused and committed to helping clients identify and utilize their strengths to achieve their goals. With a client-centered mindset, I create a supportive environment that empowers individuals to take an active role in their therapeutic journey, fostering growth and resilience along the way.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals struggling with intrusive or ruminating thoughts, anxiety, and depression. I provide a supportive space for clients to explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of control over their mental well-being. My goal is to empower clients to manage their thoughts and emotions effectively, guiding them toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. I also offer career and life coaching for those seeking clarity and direction in their personal and professional lives. I believe in the power of goal-setting and self-discovery, helping clients identify their strengths and aspirations to create actionable plans for achieving their desired outcomes. Additionally, I am particularly passionate about supporting women as they navigate their unique life experiences. Whether facing challenges related to self-esteem, relationships, or work-life balance, I strive to create a safe, empowering environment where women can explore their identities and aspirations. Finally, I work with teenagers aged 13 and up who are struggling with school-related challenges. I understand the unique pressures of adolescence and am committed to helping young people navigate these difficulties while fostering resilience and self-advocacy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I love using CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together we work on identifying cognitive distortions and learning how to challenge those negative thinking patterns. CBT is empowering to see how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions, and to learn how to shift those patterns for a more positive outcome.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without judgment. By cultivating this non-reactive awareness, can you learn to observe your experiences without getting caught up in automatic or unhelpful reactions. Mindfulness-Based Therapy can be particularly useful for managing stress, anxiety, and depression. You learn to break the cycle of ruminating on the past or about the future and reduces the power of these thoughts and emotions over time.

Christian Counseling

I will integrate Christian based counseling for clients who desire to integrate psychological principles with Christian beliefs and values. Christian Counseling aims to address emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs in a way that aligns with their Christian faith.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

As a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) therapist, my primary goal is to help you identify and build on your existing strengths and resources to achieve your desired outcomes. I focus on solutions rather than problems, guiding you to envision your preferred future and develop actionable steps to reach it.
