Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received my master's degree from Union University in Jackson, TN. I have been practicing in the field of social work for 8 years and clinically practicing for the last 3 years. I believe we all have the ability to guide the direction of our life towards a more genuine and authentic path no matter what we’ve experienced in the past. This new path can feel uncomfortable and uncertain and having someone there to walk alongside you can help make these steps feel more safe and secure. My experience is working with children through adults in their process of healing and growth. I have been trained in the following modalities: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, play therapy, and nature therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together (1 hour) is spent reviewing the intake information provided and gaining clarification on YOUR specific goals for our time in treatment together. I will offer what I think is best in terms of treatment modalities and how often we meet.... but YOU are ultimately in control of your treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think my integrative approach opens up a space for the body, mind, and spirit to find relief and healing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy using CBT as a modality with several integrative approaches as well. I feel as though our experiences affect how we see the world and interact with the people in it. Sometimes those experiences can create unhealthy or stuck ways of thinking and responding. These ways have likely served and protected you in a lot of ways, however, CBT can help you learn to challenge those old patterns and beliefs and help you find new and empowering responses and behaviors.

EMDR

Trauma can become trapped in our bodies and presents itself in a variety of ways that are impactful in the way we see ourselves (even treat ourselves), how we interact with the world and the people in it. EMDR can help reduce the negative charge associated with those trapped memories and create a new healthy way to move foward.

Polyvagal Therapy

Understanding more about how your nervous system responds through polyvagal theory provides language and normalizes what you are likely already experiencing. Polyvagal provides a road map to a more socially connected and grounded space for your body, mind and spirit.
