A holistic mental health clinician, I am passionate about collaborating with people seeking guidance and methods to assist them through mental health issues and stresses, understanding themselves. I love creative problem-solving and believe in the strength and resilience of people to overcome obstacles and boundaries in order to expand and realize their full potential. Safety and confidentiality are high priorities with each client, as are creating a supportive yet challenging working relationship with you through individualized attention in each session.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, I will provide my background information, review the consents, collect the client intake information and discuss goals for counseling.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are acknowledging where the client is and being solution-focused.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my therapeutic practice, I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients reshape their thoughts, leading to improved behaviors and emotional well-being. This approach involves identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, then working collaboratively with clients to develop more balanced and realistic perspectives. Through this process, we explore the connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions, empowering clients to make positive changes in their lives

EMDR

In my therapeutic practice, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. This approach involves guiding clients through a series of bilateral stimulations, typically eye movements, while they focus on distressing memories. This process aims to facilitate the brain's natural healing mechanisms, allowing traumatic memories to be reprocessed and integrated in a less distressing way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I employ Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients achieve positive change quickly and efficiently. This approach centers on identifying and amplifying clients' existing strengths and resources, rather than dwelling on problems. We collaborate to set clear, achievable goals and focus on creating solutions rather than analyzing past issues. Through carefully crafted questions, I guide clients to envision their preferred future and recognize times when they've successfully coped with challenges.

Trauma Informed Care

I incorporate Trauma-Conscious Yoga as a complementary approach to traditional talk therapy. This method combines gentle yoga practices with an acute awareness of trauma's impact on the body and mind. We focus on creating a safe, nurturing environment where clients can reconnect with their bodies and develop a sense of inner calm and control. Through mindful movement, breathing exercises, and guided meditation, clients learn to regulate their nervous system and manage trauma-related symptoms.

Psychoeducation

I utilize psychoeducation as a fundamental component of treatment across various therapeutic modalities. This approach involves providing clients with clear, accurate information about their mental health conditions, symptoms, and treatment options. By sharing knowledge about psychological processes, coping strategies, and the science behind mental health, I empower clients to better understand their experiences and make informed decisions about their care.
