Hi! My name is Meghan, and I’m so glad you’re here. I know how challenging it can be to take that first step toward healing, and I’m honored that you are considering me as part of your journey. A little about me: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in Florida and Georgia, with more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adults who are struggling with PTSD, trauma, shame, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and other life difficulties.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Helping Adults Heal from Trauma, Anxiety, and Self-Doubt

My goal is to help you identify the unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. Together, we’ll develop healthier perspectives and meaningful, lasting changes that support the life you want to create.

First session

During our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and creating a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We'll discuss the concerns that brought you to therapy, explore the challenges you're experiencing, and talk about what you'd like to accomplish through counseling. Together, we'll begin creating a personalized plan that reflects your unique needs and goals. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, supported, and confident about the path forward.

Strengths

I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you can openly explore the challenges you're facing, whether that's trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, or other life stressors. I'm persistent, compassionate, and committed to helping you find what works. Because every person is different, I don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. Instead, I tailor treatment to your unique needs and adjust our approach as needed to support your growth and progress. My goal is to provide a collaborative, dynamic therapeutic experience that helps you move beyond feeling stuck and create meaningful, lasting change.

Ideal clients

I work best with adults who are struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns. Many of my clients are insightful and motivated for change but may feel overwhelmed by their emotions, past experiences, or current life stressors. Through a collaborative and personalized approach, I help clients develop greater self-awareness, heal from past wounds, build practical coping skills, and create lasting positive change in their lives.

Treatment methods

Attachment-based

I often incorporate attachment theory into my work because our earliest relationships can have a lasting impact on how we see ourselves and connect with others. When attachment injuries occur during childhood, they can influence self-esteem, emotional well-being, and relationship patterns well into adulthood. In therapy, we may explore how these early experiences continue to affect your life today. By understanding and addressing these wounds, we can work toward healing, developing healthier relationships, and creating a more secure and compassionate relationship with yourself.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with clients who may feel stuck in negative thoughts, self-doubt, worry, or other unhelpful patterns. CBT helps us explore the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, providing a practical framework for understanding how these areas influence one another. By increasing awareness of these patterns and learning new ways to respond, clients can develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and create lasting positive change in their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I enjoy integrating mindfulness-based strategies into my work with clients. Mindfulness encourages us to slow down, stay present, and develop a greater awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. These skills can be especially helpful in regulating the nervous system and calming the body's fight, flight, or freeze response. By practicing mindfulness, many clients find they are better able to manage stress, navigate difficult emotions, and feel more grounded in their daily lives.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR and often incorporate this powerful treatment approach when working with clients experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, and more. When we experience overwhelming or traumatic events, our brains can sometimes have difficulty fully processing them. This can leave us feeling stuck in patterns of fear, distress, negative self-beliefs, or emotional reactivity. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (BLS) to help the brain resume its natural healing process, allowing difficult memories to become less distressing and easier to manage. Many clients find that EMDR helps them feel more at peace with past experiences and better able to move forward in their lives.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a therapist trained in DBT, I enjoy helping clients build practical skills that can be applied in everyday life. Some of the core skills I frequently teach include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Whether you're coping with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, or daily stress, these skills can help you feel more balanced, resilient, and confident in managing life's challenges.
