I'm Elise Froistad, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Do you feel pulled in a million directions, unable to fit it all in? Are your personal and/or work relationships more difficult than you would hope? Is your life just not working in some way? Things can get better. You can make changes and I'll help you figure out what's not working and get you to who you want to be and what you want out of relationships, work and life. I have more than 25 years of experience and have heard a lot and helped countless people make the changes they want. I help people manage anxiety and avoid burnout. I help those dealing with depression to feel better, have more energy and experience more joy and happiness. Relationships often contribute to many of our life's struggles and I am able to help you have more fulfilling relationships to yourself and others. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My hope is that you will gain insight into yourself and others, as well as learn skills, develop a plan, and if necessary, heal wounds, so you can move forward with your life, work and relationship goals. I would also hope that you feel understood and accepted, free of judgment that you might feel elsewhere. I will interact with you, ask questions for you to consider, point out things that might be keeping you stuck and support you as you develop a plan to make the changes you want in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have learned through the years to listen to what's said and not said in order to help my clients understand more clearly what's going on with them. We can fairly quickly put into words what has been unsaid, therefore, helping you establish a greater knowledge of yourself, but also a greater ability to connect with others and see life and others in a different light. It's freeing to be understood and to understand. It empowers one to make more conscious choices in order to live more intentionally. We are complex beings. Our emotions, thoughts and memories can impact our emotional, physical and spiritual health and vice versa. We can explore any and every aspect of yourself. It's up to you.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I have found that understanding the reasons underlying the current situation can be helpful to experience long-term positive changes by understanding and gaining more control over your actions, feelings and beliefs. I've been using this modality for over 25 years and have seen my clients gain confidence, self compassion, have more fulfilling relationships, and live and love more intentionally...and just feel better.

Christian Counseling

I do also do Christian/faith-based counseling as many people have faith systems that influence their daily lives so I want people to know that they can bring those beliefs into session if they choose.
