Hi, I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner who has been in the field of psychiatry since 1996. I have spent my whole life making sure I have the gift of serving others dealing with mental health issues. This is all I have ever wanted to do. I am a Rush University College of Nursing graduate. I have worked in in-patient treatment, addiction medicine and geriatric psychiatry throughout my career. In 2014, I started my Iowa Telepsychiatry practice. Not many wanted or even heard of Tele-Psychiatry, I have embraced it ever since. I've have extensive knowledge dealing with many facets of mental healthcare.
It's all about getting to know you in that first session. Understanding how I will be able to help you on your journey. I also will determine what I can't do for you as well.
I think my greatest strength is I feel like I'm built to be a mental health provider. I am good at understanding mental health disease states. I do a great job and only prescribing when necessary and the necessary amount.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a practical, skills-based therapy. We’ll figure out the patterns between your thoughts, feelings, and actions, then practice simple tools to change what’s not helping. It’s focused, goal-oriented, and usually time-limited. It makes since because I;m all about resolution.
