About me

As a mental health therapist, I do my best to provide a safe, open, and empowering environment in which my clients can express themselves in ways that feel true to themselves. I take a creative approach to therapy, integrating various theories and techniques in order to best serve those who seek support. Each individual has an important story to tell, which is why I believe it is important to tailor therapeutic interventions to each individual based on their needs. I have had experience with a wide range of populations and am always open to learning more. I work hard to connect with individuals and believe having a consistent, safe, and positive connection with others is a huge part of the work. I am humorous, compassionate, and empathic. I take a strength-based and person-centered approach when working with others, finding ways to inform the work based on the individual sitting with me. I offer compassionate, collaborative therapy to help you build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. Using expressive therapies in tandem with talk-therapy, together we’ll work toward a life that feels more balanced and connected.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will be about getting to know you. I would like to learn about your interests, likes/dislikes, and generally what brought you to therapy. I would also like to begin building the therapeutic relationship and seeing how it feels connecting with one another. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and share what kind of support I can help provide as you move through your therapeutic process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am someone who likes to hold space for others to express themselves in ways that feel true to them. I take a creative, person-centered, and strength-based approach, helping individuals feel empowered and as comfortable as they can sharing about themselves and their lives. I like to ensure that individuals feel heard and validated before they feel challenged.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I truly enjoy working with children and teens, helping them to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, and building confidence. I find it important to give children and teens a safe, non-judgemental space where they can build a positive connection with others. An ideal client would be open to various modalities, creative, and playful. I am happy to help those who are feeling general anxiety and stress to those who experience chronic depression, struggle with anger management, have behavioral/social/emotional needs, and those who are on the ASD or experiencing developmental disabilities. Some people need help with communication and confidence, I am happy to help with that.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

With compassion-focused therapy, I use this as a means of helping others to not be so hard on themselves as they move through their healing journey and help them to find ways to give themselves more grace, warmth, and compassion. I can use a CBT focused lens which can help with recognizing behaviors, increasing awareness, and finding ways to adjust behaviors in order to improve quality of life and overall self-esteem, confidence, and connecting with others.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT can help with attuning to the body and using the senses in order to feel grounded in the present. Mindfulness skills can help with personal regulation and increased patience with self and others, along with helping others to access coping skills before feeling out of control.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT can help with attuning to anxiety, depression, and stress and how it relates to physical health. This approach will help with attuning to the body and understanding the somatic affects our emotions can have.

Mind-body approach

Creating connection between the mind and body, providing movement-based interventions in order to assist with processing emotions that live within our bodies.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

An approach that takes in the individual needs of each client and finding techniques that work based on the needs of the individual. Therapy is not "one size fits all" and it is important to tailor interventions based on what the individual needs and responds well to.
