Hi, I’m Amber :) I’m a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Professional Counselor/Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My journey has taken me through healthcare, mental health, education, and human services, and along the way I’ve come to deeply appreciate how interconnected our systems are. I also recognize that these systems are not always built with every individual in mind, and that factors like race, socioeconomic status, gender, and other identities can deeply impact a person’s access to care and overall well-being. I’m also neurodivergent, chronically ill, and received my diagnoses later in life, and I have lived experience with mental health and health challenges, both personally and within my family. Those experiences shape how I show up in my work: with authenticity, empathy, and a genuinely nonjudgmental presence. I understand that healing isn’t linear and that every person is worthy of authentic, person-centered care. I truly believe that the privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel safe enough to reconnect with your most authentic self and supported enough to grow into the life you want to live.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a collaborative and grounded conversation. I’ll invite you to share your story, what’s bringing you in, and what you hope to gain from therapy. My goal is to create safety, offer transparency about the process, and begin identifying strengths and supportive strategies that feel realistic and empowering for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the integration of holistic care, clinical training, and lived experience. I blend evidence-based skills, positive self-talk, mindfulness, and mind-body awareness while honoring culture, identity, and personal values. I aim to meet you exactly where you are, offer options, and walk alongside you as you build a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and authentically yours.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m especially well positioned to support neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQIA+ clients, healthcare workers, and those navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, identity exploration, or life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or tired of masking. If you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to explain your existence and can instead focus on growth, self-understanding, and practical tools that fit your nervous system, we may be a good fit.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients build psychological flexibility by making space for difficult thoughts and emotions without shame or self-judgment. In a neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQ-affirming space, I support clients in clarifying their values and taking meaningful action aligned with their authentic identities rather than societal expectations.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate DBT skills to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. I adapt DBT in ways that honor neurodivergent communication styles and validate LGBTQ+ lived experiences, focusing on empowerment rather than compliance or masking.

Trauma Informed Care

I practice from a trauma-informed lens that prioritizes safety, collaboration, choice, and transparency. I recognize the impact of systemic oppression, minority stress, and medical trauma, and I work to avoid pathologizing adaptive survival responses.

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide gender-affirming care by centering each client’s self-defined identity and expression. I actively challenge cisnormative and heteronormative assumptions, support exploration without agenda, and advocate for access to affirming resources when needed.

Mind-body approach

I incorporate a mind-body approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of nervous system regulation, sensory processing, and emotional well-being. I offer grounding, somatic awareness, and body-based tools in ways that respect neurodivergent sensory needs and personal boundaries.
