Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of Illinois. I have experience working with individuals who face challenges with their mental health for the past 10 years. I have worked in a school setting with both general education and special education students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade. I have experience with writing behavior intervention plans, 504 plans and IEPs. I have worked with adults that face challenges related to grief, anxiety, depression and challenging family dynamics.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your initial session with me, you can anticipate a warm and welcoming introduction to our therapeutic partnership. I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can be both courageous and apprehensive, and my primary goal is to create a comfortable space where you feel heard and understood. The session will begin with introductions, allowing you to become familiar with me and my approach. You'll have the opportunity to share a bit about yourself, your background, and the specific challenges you are currently facing. This initial conversation provides a foundation for me to gain insight into your unique experiences and concerns. As we delve into the specific challenges you're grappling with, I encourage open and honest communication. This collaborative dialogue enables me to develop a comprehensive understanding of your needs, allowing me to tailor a specific treatment plan designed to address your individual goals and aspirations. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, meaning that you play an active role in shaping your therapeutic journey. By the end of the first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process ahead and a preliminary roadmap for your treatment. I am committed to working alongside you as you embark on this transformative journey towards healing and self-discovery.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in creating a safe and inclusive space for clients of all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life, ensuring that each person receives personalized care and support. Whether you are seeking therapy for yourself or your child, my client-centered approach and evidence-based interventions are designed to foster growth, resilience, and a path towards holistic well-being. No matter where you are on your mental health journey, I am here to help you navigate and overcome the obstacles you face.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a helpful therapy tool that I use with clients experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression and social connections. CBT helps clients learn how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions

Trauma Informed Care

Using trauma informed care, I acknowledge the trauma a client has experienced and focus on their strengths and then empower them to build on those strengths while also developing stronger coping skills.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Using DBT, I teach clients clients the strategies of acceptance and change. People's experiences are valid and they have to make positive changes managing their emotions in order to move forward.

Psychoeducation

I believe that informing and educating individuals on their mental disorder is not only helpful in their understanding of themselves but also empowering.
