Hi! My name is Alyssa. Are you looking to improve your quality of life? Do you feel overwhelmed by the challenges of managing work, relationships, and self-care? I’m here to help. My goal is to support you in overcoming life’s struggles and building a more positive and fulfilling life. By helping you reframe your thinking and work through challenges with evidence-based treatments and empathy, we can move toward meaningful and lasting change. I tailor my approach to suit each individual, combining different therapeutic techniques to find what works best for you. I believe in empowering and supporting my clients so they can thrive and improve their overall well-being. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship issues, or any other life stressors, I’m here to guide you through this journey. Seeking therapy can feel daunting, but taking this step shows your strength and commitment to change. Thank you for allowing me to support you. My mission is to empower individuals to face life’s challenges with resilience and optimism. Through compassionate therapy, I aim to help clients discover their inner strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and nurture meaningful connections. Together, we’ll work toward improving your mental well-being, fostering personal growth, and creating a balanced, fulfilling life.
In our first session, we will begin with intake questions to help me understand your unique needs and experiences. The first session tends to include a lot more questions than follow-up sessions. This typically involves discussing your personal history, family background, any prior treatments, current medications, and any concerns you’d like to address. Together, we’ll identify your goals and develop a plan to move forward. My aim is to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to succeed in therapy. This session is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and start building a positive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
I am hopeful to guide you in reframing your thoughts until you feel confident doing so on your own. I approach tough situations with empathy and a strengths-based perspective, helping clients navigate challenges of any size. My goal is to support you through whatever you are facing—no matter how big or small. I firmly believe that all feelings are valid and meaningful. Even if they may seem minor, they are important because they are true to you. Too often, we are dismissed or told our emotions don’t matter. I am here to provide a space where your feelings are validated, heard, and processed with care.

CBT focuses on identifying and modifying unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and overall functioning. CBT is beneficial to use for anxiety disorders, depression and trauma. The Core Principles of CBT are that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected; and changing one aspect (e.g., thoughts or behaviors) can positively influence the others.
DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness principles and is structured around four primary skill areas: 1. Mindfulness; 2. Distress Tolerance; 3. Emotional Regulation; and 4. Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT is used primarily for individuals with emotional dysregulation issues.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT, pronounced "act") is a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy that focuses on fostering psychological flexibility. It emphasizes accepting difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them, committing to actions aligned with one’s values, and engaging in a meaningful life. ACT can be used to treat depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma and chronic pain.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered counseling approach designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence and strengthen their motivation for change.
