Roshni Patel
As a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient psychiatry, I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.
I specialize in thoughtful and individualized medication management while also helping clients better understand emotional patterns, stressors, and coping strategies.
I specialize in medication management while also incorporating supportive therapy, coping skills, and emotional insight into treatment when appropriate, but the focus is on medication management. My goal is to help clients feel understood, emotionally safe, and empowered while working toward meaningful and lasting improvement in their mental health and overall well-being.
First session
Starting psychiatric treatment can feel intimidating, especially if you are used to carrying everything on your own. During our first session, we will take time to fully understand what has been going on emotionally, mentally, and physically. We will discuss your symptoms, stressors, personal history, current challenges, past treatment experiences, medications, sleep, anxiety, mood patterns, and treatment goals. I focus on creating a comfortable and supportive environment where clients feel heard without judgment. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and practical coping strategies tailored to your needs.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is combining strong clinical knowledge with a compassionate and approachable style that helps clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported. My background in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient psychiatry has given me extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, mood disorders, ADHD, relationship stress, and emotional overwhelm across children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I specialize in thoughtful and individualized medication management while also helping clients better understand emotional patterns, stressors, and coping strategies. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and focused on helping clients achieve meaningful and realistic improvement in their daily lives.
Ideal clients
Feeling emotionally exhausted while trying to hold everything together can be incredibly isolating. I work best with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, burnout, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, sleep difficulties, and life transitions that are beginning to affect daily functioning, relationships, motivation, or overall quality of life. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals, caregivers, parents, adolescents, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals who appear ‘fine’ on the outside while silently struggling internally. I provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric medication management in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, while also incorporating supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies when appropriate. My goal is to help clients better understand their symptoms, find the right treatment approach, improve emotional stability and functioning, and ultimately feel more balanced, supported, and like themselves again.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I incorporate supportive therapy into medication management visits by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for patients to discuss current stressors, symptoms, and challenges. I use active listening, validation, encouragement, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies to help patients better understand their symptoms, build on their strengths, and improve day-to-day functioning. Supportive interventions are individualized and used alongside medication management to promote emotional well-being and progress toward treatment goals.
