(he/him)
Hi there! My name is Moses, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with many years of psychiatry experience helping individuals achieve their mental health goals. I work well with clients who are at a crossroad in their lives either because of debilitating anxiety or depression, inattention, worrisome insomnia, incapacitating bipolar symptoms, past or acute trauma, and other mental health concerns. I use skillful approach to medication management, provides psychotherapeutic support, and work collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve stability and progress in their mental well-being.
During your session, you can expect to have an environment of trust, empathy, safety, and support. The session will begin with a brief introduction and what goals you intend to achieve in seeking treatment. My goal is to know you, not just your symptoms; and to collaborate with you in developing a personalized treatment plan aimed at improving your emotional and psychological well-being. **For cash-paying clients, no prescriptions would be sent unless full payment is confirmed. This can take up to 2 days. If you do not have the means to pay cash, please do not schedule a visit. **Also, I do not complete any disability or FMLA paperwork. Students in need of accommodations or those needing ESA letters would be considered on case-by-case basis, and no letter of any kind is issued at first/initial visit.
I am generally open-minded because I understand every individual is different. Besides, trust, empathy, understanding, and respect are the core principles of my practice. You can expect to get these during your visit with me. I work to build trust and confidence in my patients to enhance their self-coping skills while addressing their mental and emotional health needs.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help my patients deal with unpleasant internal phenomena causing anxiety, depression, or other mental health problems. One key feature of CBT is cognitive restructuring, which is aimed at changing maladaptive thinking patterns that is often associated with negative feelings and emotions. It is a collaborative process where we work together to identify the root cause of the problem, promote behavioral activation, and problem-solve to arrive at appropriate solutions.
Supportive
I use supportive therapy to provide encouragement, support and validation to clients during a difficult time in their lives. The goal is to enable you deal with immediate, pressing needs by talking about identified problems in a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental environment while promoting problem-solving and symptom relief.

Very encouraging, with real-life strategies and built-in accountability. I appreciate that, while being highly solution-oriented, he remains deeply centered on meeting individuals exactly where they are in their journey yet he also has the insight to see beyond their current season and guide them toward where they are called to be. Thank you Dr. Oluga.
