About me

Hello, my name is Amanda Lamelas and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Florida International University and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. I offer initial psychiatric evaluations, medication management (for DEA controlled and non-controlled substances), and psychotherapy when appropriate. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, and LGBTQ+ mental health concerns. I work with children (ages 6+), adolescents, and adults, ensuring that each individual receives a personalized and supportive approach tailored to their unique experiences and needs. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I believe in working closely with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their specific challenges and goals. By fostering a supportive, non-judgmental, and inclusive environment, I create a space where clients feel safe to express themselves openly. I incorporate therapeutic communication, empathy, and trust-building to ensure that my clients feel heard and respected while working together toward symptom relief and overall well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the initial evaluation, clients can expect a review of their presenting symptoms and past history, an objective mental status exam, a diagnosis, and appropriate medication prescriptions or therapy referrals as needed. Clients can expect a welcoming and affirming space where their concerns are validated, and their mental health is prioritized. Each session is an opportunity to gain deeper self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and build practical tools for managing symptoms. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, or LGBTQ+ mental health needs, my goal is to empower clients with the support and strategies they need to achieve lasting wellness and a better quality of life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to listen deeply and connect with clients in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. I’m skilled at creating a safe, inclusive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to share openly. My collaborative approach allows me to tailor treatment plans to each individual’s unique needs, combining evidence-based practices with empathy and therapeutic communication. Additionally, my commitment to ongoing learning, including pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, ensures that I stay current with best practices to provide the highest quality care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients of all ages, starting from children aged 6 and up, through adolescents and adults, who are seeking compassionate and personalized mental health care. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, mood and personality disorders, sleep and thought disorders, as well as LGBTQ+ mental health concerns. My collaborative and holistic approach works well for clients who want a supportive, non-judgmental space and who are interested in actively working together to create a treatment plan tailored to their unique experiences and goals.

Easily the most genuine and caring provider I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. Made a stressful experience extremely comforting and pleasant. 5 stars doesn’t do her justice
