New to Grow
Hi, I’m Chelsea, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed strategies to help clients understand their thoughts and emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person’s unique goals and strengths.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current challenges, personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy so we can begin identifying clear goals. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace while we start outlining practical next steps that feel realistic and helpful.
One of my strengths as a therapist is helping clients understand the patterns behind their thoughts, emotions, and reactions. Using my clinical experience, I explain things in a clear and relatable way so clients can better understand anxiety, stress, and emotional responses. When people understand what’s happening and why, it often becomes easier to feel less overwhelmed and start making meaningful changes. I also bring creativity into my therapeutic approach by adapting evidence-based methods to fit each client’s goals, personality, and learning style. This helps make therapy more practical and engaging, so clients leave with tools and insights they can actually use in their everyday lives.
I work best with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, or significant life transitions and want practical tools to better manage their emotions and thoughts. Many of my clients are looking to understand patterns that keep them feeling stuck, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier ways of responding to stress. I’m especially well-suited for individuals who value a collaborative approach and are interested in developing both practical coping skills and deeper insight into themselves.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical strategies to change them. Together, we connect thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to support healthier coping and meaningful change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to support clients in accepting what is outside of their control while committing to actions that reflect what matters most to them. This approach helps reduce struggle with internal experiences and promotes lasting, values-based change.
Strength-Based
I incorporate a strengths-based approach to support clients in recognizing their inherent abilities and inner resources. This perspective helps foster self-efficacy, hope, and sustainable progress toward personal goals.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT-informed strategies to support clients in learning concrete skills for managing emotions, tolerating distress, and improving communication. These tools help clients increase control, confidence, and resilience in daily life
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use problem-solving and solution-focused approaches to help clients identify challenges, explore options, and develop actionable steps forward. This work emphasizes practical strategies, strengths, and measurable progress.
