Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Connecticut. I received my Masters of Social Worker from the Columbia University in 2002 and have been practicing clinical therapy in a variety of settings since then. I have over 22 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults who are suffering from trauma, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, interpersonal challenges, identity exploration, and eating disorders. I help assist each client with what they came to therapy to discover and become the best versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, start to build a rapport, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to provide a safe and open environment for you to discuss the many complex issues in your life. We will collaborate to find ways to empower you to realize personal growth with a firm understanding of how to move forward. I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use this method to assist clients in dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively. ACT teaches acceptance of these thoughts, making it possible to commit to actions that align with personal values and improve well-being instead of trying to control or remove the negative thoughts.

Family Therapy

I use this method to assist clients, and their families improve their communication, resolve problems, and create a better functioning home environment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this method to emphasize what is going on in the person's current life, rather than what has led up to their difficulties. The focus is primarily on moving forward in time to develop more effective ways of coping with life than focusing on the past.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use this method to strike a balance between acceptance of who you are and your challenges and the benefits of change. I will help you learn new skills to improve emotion regulation.

EMDR

I use this for clients with trauma by focusing on an upsetting event, then beginning sets of side-to-side eye movements, sounds, or taps. The client will be guided to notice what comes to mind after each set. They may experience shifts in insight or changes in images, feelings, or beliefs regarding the event that will relieve the emotional attachment to the event.
