LMFT, 15 years of experience
New to Grow
Rogeline Amo has over 15 years of experience providing direct service support to individuals in the social service sectors. Early in her career, she worked at an emergency shelter and crisis hotline. Rogeline’s role included providing acute care plus advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She also worked as a counselor at a University counseling center. Rogeline received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Later in her career, she acquired a certificate in bereavement facilitation, and completed her clinical hours at an established hospice. "As one who experienced personal and profound loss, I understand how impactful such challenges can be on one's life journey. I find that processing, reflecting, and finding the meaning behind all of it, can be life-changing."
Rogeline would like her clients to know: "I am a collaborative and supportive licensed therapist. In our first session, I will devote some time to learn more about your unique story that brought you here today. We will discuss your history and any situational stressors or challenges that might be influencing your presenting concerns. From there, we will base each session around your goals and move at a pace that is most comfortable for you."
In the beginning of therapy, Rogeline relies on information provided to help guide her towards a collaborative treatment plan. In the middle stages, she sees how far clients have progressed in their therapy with her, and adjusts along the way. During the later phase, she continues to review progress, highlight improvements, provide referrals and discuss all of the options. Rogeline strives for the personal growth of each of her clients.
Rogeline has professional qualifications and personal experience with loss to offer grief support for individuals from all walks of life. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she is qualified to help individuals who are coping with adjustments, anxiety, depression, recovery from trauma, transitions, and situational stressors. Rogeline collaborates with clients to meet them where they are at, and she provides a safe space to establish trusted rapport.
I provide psycho education on the principles of ACT, and explain how acceptance and committed actions, to name a few, can be applied to manage each client's unique symptom presentation and presenting concerns.
I provide psycho education on the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy. I employ CBT to help clients recognize negative thought patterns and behaviors. Ultimately, I encourage clients to use CBT as a coping tool to help manage the challenges that bring them to therapy, and improve their overall well being.
I provide psycho education on the principles of DBT. I employ DBT to help clients manage painful emotions, and to decrease conflict in their lives. I use DBT to help clients with a wide range of issues & presenting concerns.
I employ a strength-based, solution-focused approach with each of my clients that eclectically incorporates a blend of ACT, CBT, DBT, and narrative therapies. Depending on clients' needs, I vary my approach to ensure that it is uniquely suited for each individual. By utilizing resources that are already in place, I believes that clients can grow, heal, and thrive in their process. Whether starting therapy for the first time or returning, I am honored to support you on your journey towards improved well-being and self-discovery.
