Hi there! My name is Arey Lazarre, I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and New Jersey. I specialize in working with new parents and families during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early parenting period. I understand the emotional shifts that can arise during this transformative time and use evidence-based approaches to help clients navigate stress, build coping strategies, and strengthen connections within themselves and their relationships. My desire is to ensure each client is able to meet their treatment goals in a manner that they are most comfortable.
During a first session with me, clients get to feel a sense of relief. They are able to relax and focus on building a rapport with me, as they go at their pace explaining their history with any mental health challenges.
My greatest strength as a provider is allowing clients to feel genuinely listened to, and offering a safe space for them to share their thoughts.
I love working with couples and individuals that are ready for compassionate guidance and meaningful changes. As a Perinatal Mental Health Counselor, I offer therapy to pregnant and postpartum mothers and their families. Many of my clients are ready to explore life, past their trauma, and look forward to healthier behaviors, thoughts and feelings.
I've been using CBT in my practice for years. In my experience when clients are educated about how feelings, thoughts, and everyday behaviors work together, it fosters change in their lives.
