In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a 60-minute intake focused entirely on getting to know you, your story, and your patterns. We’ll talk about your day-to-day experiences with focus, attention, memory, organization, emotional ups and downs, and how these things have impacted your relationships, work, school, or overall well-being. We’ll also explore your history, what you were like as a child, what school felt like, how you’ve learned to cope or compensate over time, and any challenges that still show up. If trauma, anxiety, or burnout are part of your story, we’ll make space for that too. Because I specialize in adult ADHD and provide neurodivergent-affirming care, I understand that ADHD isn’t always obvious. It doesn’t always show up as hyperactivity or impulsivity. You might be the person who keeps everything together on the outside but feels like a mess on the inside. You might be constantly overthinking, under-functioning, or wondering why you’re so exhausted all the time. My job is to hold space for that with curiosity and compassion, not judgment. After we talk, we will work through a set of questionnaires designed to assess things like executive functioning, emotional regulation, and attention patterns. From there, we’ll schedule a follow-up where I’ll go over the results with you and offer a clear, plain-language explanation of what they mean and the next steps that actually make sense.

One of my greatest strengths is the ability to truly see my clients, especially those who’ve felt overlooked, misdiagnosed, or dismissed. With 18 years of experience, I specialize in working with adults navigating ADHD, trauma, burnout, and big life transitions. I offer neurodivergent-affirming ADHD assessments that provide clarity, validation, and real answers, not just labels. My approach is holistic and integrative, blending evidence-based tools like EMDR for trauma and emotional regulation with practical support for executive functioning, focus, and overwhelm. I help clients untangle years of self-doubt and perfectionism, build sustainable coping strategies, and reconnect with their own strengths. Whether you’re seeking an assessment, therapy, or both, my goal is to create a space where you don’t have to mask, shrink, or explain yourself constantly. Just come as you are and we’ll build from there. Clients often tell me they feel calmer, more grounded, and finally understood after working together.

Karina is amazing, she always makes me feel understood with her warmth and compassion, and our sessions are fun because of her great sense of humor as well! I feel safe talking to her about anything, knowing she won't judge me. She's supportive and also very solution oriented, which is one of the main reasons I love working with her, is that she provides very easy, personalized suggestions and tactics to implement into my daily life.
