I am a dedicated dual-certified nurse practitioner with a proven track record of helping clients achieve their objectives via meticulous attention to detail and creative problem-solving.
With extensive experience across a variety of sectors, I pride myself on building strong, collaborative relationships and delivering made-to-measure solutions that exceed expectations. I am committed to providing a seamless, highly effective service designed to meet your unique needs. I'm licensed in FL, CO, TX, and GA, but I can prescribe controlled substances only in FL. I apologize for the inconvenience.
First session
In your first session, expect a warm welcome, time to discuss what brought you in, and a review of important details like informed consent, fees, and policies. This is a chance to share your story at your own pace while I listen, ask questions, and begin to understand your needs and goals. We'll also discuss your expectations for therapy to see if we are a good fit to work together. The session is for you, so you will have time to ask me any questions you have as well.
Strengths
A therapeutic approach that stands out is the strengths-based approach, which focuses on a client's capabilities and resilience rather than deficits. This method is characterized by creating a nonjudgmental and empathetic relationship, validating the client's inherent strengths, and empowering them to be an active agent of change to achieve their desired outcomes. The result is a more positive mindset, improved self-perception, and the ability to face hardships with greater resourcefulness.
Ideal clients
1. The Ideal Patient Profile The Overwhelmed Professional/Parent: Individuals dealing with high-functioning anxiety, ADHD ( no controlled substances in CO), depression, mood swings, or burnout who need a provider to help them stabilize neurologically while also discussing lifestyle adjustments. The Treatment-Resistant Patient: Those who have "tried everything" and want a provider to look deeper into their medical history, genetics, or metabolic health rather than just prescribing the same drug classes. Transitional Age Youth: Adolescents and young adults navigating the complex shift into adulthood who require a blend of clinical monitoring and supportive coaching. 2. Common Concerns & Mindsets "Medication Hesitancy": Patients who are nervous about side effects or "feeling like a zombie." You are uniquely positioned to educate them, validate their fears, and collaborate on a slow, intentional plan. Stigma and Shame: Patients who feel "broken" by their diagnosis. Your nursing background allows you to frame mental health as a biological/systemic issue rather than a character flaw. Desire for Connection: Patients who find traditional psychiatry too "cold" or "transactional." They want to feel heard for 20–30 minutes, not just rushed through a 5-minute med check.
Origin story
Over my four years as a PMHNP and 8 years as an FNP, my core driving force has remained unchanged: a true love for helping individuals feel better and regain control of their well-being. I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and personalized treatment plans that respect the unique lived experiences of each patient. If you are looking for a dedicated clinician who prioritizes safety, open communication, and genuine clinical care, I am here to partner with you on your path toward mental clarity and wellness.
Medication approach
Rational prescribing maximizes effectiveness, minimizes harm, avoids resource waste, and respects patient choice through structured clinical reasoning. No controlled substances in Colorado.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, short-term psychotherapy that links thoughts, physical sensations, and behaviors to address current challenges
Biofeedback
The approach emphasizes collaboration between the provider and the patient. The clinician helps interpret the data and guides you through various techniques, such as progressive muscle relaxation, visualization, or deep breathing. These techniques are aimed at enhancing your awareness of your body’s responses and promoting self-regulation. As you progress through sessions, you typically learn to recognize patterns in your body's responses. With practice, you can apply these skills outside the clinic, using biofeedback principles in daily life to manage stress, enhance relaxation, and improve overall well-being. The supportive environment fostered during these sessions encourages open communication and empowers you to take control of your health and wellness journey.
