I am a dedicated dual-certified nurse practitioner with a proven track record of helping clients achieve their objectives via meticulous attention to detail and creative problem-solving.
With extensive experience across a variety of sectors, I pride myself on building strong, collaborative relationships and delivering made-to-measure solutions that exceed expectations. My commitment is to provide a seamless and highly effective service designed to meet your unique needs.
First session
In your first session, expect a warm welcome, time to discuss what brought you in, and a review of important details like informed consent, fees, and policies. This is a chance for you to share your story at your own pace, while I listen, ask questions, and start to understand your needs and goals. We'll also discuss your expectations for therapy to see if we are a good fit to work together. The session is for you, so you will have time to ask me any questions you have as well.
Strengths
A therapeutic approach that stands out is the strengths-based approach, which focuses on a client's capabilities and resilience rather than deficits. This method is characterized by creating a nonjudgmental and empathetic relationship, validating the client's inherent strengths, and empowering them to be an active agent of change to achieve their desired outcomes. The result is a more positive mindset, improved self-perception, and the ability to face hardships with greater resourcefulness.
Ideal clients
1. The Ideal Patient Profile The Overwhelmed Professional/Parent: Individuals dealing with high-functioning anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood swings, or burnout who need a provider to help them stabilize neurologically while also discussing lifestyle adjustments. The Treatment-Resistant Patient: Those who have "tried everything" and are looking for a provider who will look deeper into their medical history, genetics, or metabolic health rather than just prescribing the same classes of drugs. Transitional Age Youth: Adolescents and young adults navigating the complex shift into adulthood who require a blend of clinical monitoring and supportive coaching. 2. Common Concerns & Mindsets "Medication Hesitancy": Patients who are nervous about side effects or "feeling like a zombie." You are uniquely positioned to educate them, validate their fears, and collaborate on a slow, intentional plan. Stigma and Shame: Patients who feel "broken" by their diagnosis. Your nursing background allows you to frame mental health as a biological/systemic issue rather than a character flaw. Desire for Connection: Patients who find traditional psychiatry too "cold" or "transactional." They want to feel heard for 20–30 minutes, not just rushed through a 5-minute med check.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, short-term psychotherapy that links thoughts, physical sensations, and behaviors to address current challenges
Biofeedback
The approach emphasizes collaboration between the provider and the patient. The clinician helps interpret the data and guides you through various techniques, such as progressive muscle relaxation, visualization, or deep breathing. These techniques are aimed at enhancing your awareness of your body’s responses and promoting self-regulation. As you progress through sessions, you typically learn to recognize patterns in your body's responses. With practice, you can apply these skills outside the clinic, using biofeedback principles in daily life to manage stress, enhance relaxation, and improve overall well-being. The supportive environment fostered during these sessions encourages open communication and empowers you to take control of your health and wellness journey.
