Hi! For over 30 years I have worked in Human Services. In 2022, I graduated from Walden University with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in Trauma and Crisis. I have worked with children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults within the community. For the past four years, I have worked for a non-profit in Florida working with clients who have co-occurring disorders and serious-persistent mental health conditions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will provide you with the opportunity to share information about yourself and what your goals might be. If you aren't quite sure what your goals are, that's okay too. We can talk about some of the challenges that you face and together we will come up with a treatment plan unique to your situation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over 30 years of experience practicing trauma-informed care and working with vulnerable populations. I feel that one of my strengths is my ability to empathize without judgment. The therapeutic relationship is valuable and I am comfortable being present and transparent while providing a safe and accepting environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When using CBT, the focus is to help you reduce distress by teaching you how your thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect your feelings and actions. It allows you to understand your experience of the world and enables you to make changes.

Trauma Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed care to individuals by helping them explore their beliefs about the trauma itself to uncover key cognitions. I encourage you to understand yourself better and offer tools to help you identify unhelpful thoughts in a safe space to do the work necessary to achieve the change you desire

Gestalt

Treatment techniques focus on achieving insight, increasing self-awareness, and taking responsibility for one's own choices so that you can successfully self-regulate.
