As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of experience, I approach therapy from a curious lens, with the goal of seeking to understand what is most important to you as my client. I offer clinical skills from an inclusive and flexible perspective, while also challenging my clients to lean towards their capacity for change. My clinical interests include assessing, treating, and educating on the complex bio-psycho-social factors related to persons who have experienced trauma, interpersonal relationship challenges, and grief histories.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we will begin with introductions, then I'll ask pertinent questions to better ascertain your presenting concerns and preferences for treatment. With a desire to improve challenges in relationships, subsequent sessions may focus on stabilizing meaningful connections with others. Additionally, the willingness to do the introspective work typically results in clients reporting positive and long-standing outcomes over the course of time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Serving as a change agent in helping individuals identify faulty thinking patterns that often lead to a lifetime of shame, mistrust, and generational cycles of maladaptive behaviors are certainly strengths of mine. My goal is to encourage transition into a life of accountability and perspective taking, positive esteem and decision making, and certainly courage!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I greatly enjoy working with clients who have arrived at the preparation stage of change, though who may require additional support in navigating their newly found readiness.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a modality utilized in therapy sessions to assist clients with identifying their thoughts, feelings, and subsequent behaviors- through a trauma informed, specific, and responsive lens.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal therapy allows the client to focus on doing the introspective work, then moving towards development of skillsets in order to produce rewarding and sustainable outcomes. Individuals often report improved symptoms associated with grief, depression, and complex interpersonal relationships after engagement interpersonal therapy.

Couples Counseling

Relationship challenges frequently are a result of unmet or unspoken expectations. -As a clinical therapist, I've worked with couples to identify faulty thinking patterns within their relationships, with the ultimate goal of striving towards mutual accountability and unconditional positive regard for one another.

Grief Therapy

Grief is a complex emotion that impacts people in a multitude of ways. -For many individuals, grief is a life-long process and therefore support in working through the residual effects of grief and finding subsequent meaning after loss may hold the greatest value.

Racial trauma treatment

In a world that vacillates between both acceptance and fatigue of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB), as a clinical therapist, I have extensive experience in creating and holding safe spaces for individuals of color to share their unique and collective journeys.
