Hi! My name is Bridgit Sims and I am a licensed counselor in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. I have experience providing neuro-affirming and trauma-informed therapy to teens and adults. I can assist you in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, trauma, communication, self-confidence/self-esteem, relationship issues, neurodivergence and more. As an autistic person with ADHD, I am passionate about working with, bringing together and supporting neurodivergent individuals. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
During our first session we will start by getting to know each other then we will discuss in detail your therapy needs and goals. Gathering detailed information about your concerns will help us formulate a personalized therapy approach to best meet your needs and achieve your desired goals.
I provide a casual, comfortable and personalized approach to therapy that is authentic. My relaxed and engaging approach helps my clients feel at ease, understood and supported. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to most effectively help you meet your goals. My approach to therapy is collaborative. Together we will find ways to empower you to make the change you want while developing greater self-awareness and confidence. When working with me I will be open, collaborative, transparent and honest yet supportive and non-judgmental.
As an autistic person with ADHD, I am passionate about working with and supporting other neurodivergent individuals. I particularly enjoy helping late diagnosed individuals better understand their diagnosis, learn how to unmask, reduce areas of burnout, advocate for themselves and embrace their genuine self all while building confidence and self-love.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to most effectively help you meet your goals. After exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors we will work together to identify negative thoughts and reframe them for improved mood and behaviors.
Through a variety of mindfulness techniques, we will work to sharpen focus, improve grounding, bolster mood and better manage emotions.
Through an open and affirming discussion we will explore issues impacting you while working together to identify healthy ways forward along with areas of strength and areas in need of attention.
