Life is like a rollercoaster. You have ups and you have downs. It can be an enjoyable ride when life is easy, but the ride can get bumpy when we are experiencing the downs of life. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Florida. I received my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. I have over 5 years’ experience providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults. I utilize a strengths based, solution oriented orientation when working with clients. I have experience working with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, family conflict, life transitions, and post traumatic stress disorder. Congratulations on taking the first step towards change! I am excited to join you on your journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we will go over paperwork as well as review consents to treatment. I will also open the floor for you to tell me about what brings you to therapy and what you would like your life to look like once counseling is over (I.e. less anxious, being more assertive, learning how to communicate more effective). We’ll also begin to develop goals that can direct our sessions (I.e. coping skills or communication skills).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children and adults with trauma for over 5 years I have extensive training in trauma. I have been trained and received certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have extensive knowledge on trauma and how it affects us. I am skilled at assisting you with learning more about trauma and its effects on humans as well as ways to overcome trauma and receive healing. I am a strengths-based, solution oriented clinician.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is an evidence based talk therapy that can help you learn effective ways to manage your problems by identifying how your thoughts affect your feelings which in turn affects your behavior. CBT’s goal is to alter the way you think and behave which results in a healthier outlook on life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy or DBT is an evidence based talk therapy that is a modified version of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The goal of DBT is to teach people how to live in the moment, learn and apply healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and enhance interpersonal relationships with others.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy or SFBT is an evidenced based, future-focused, goal-oriented, and focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought the clients to seek therapy. SFBT is short term, goal-oriented, and strengths based.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or TF-CBT is an evidenced based psych therapy that aims at addressing the needs of children, adolescents, and families with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy is a form of talk therapy that works on the improvement of relationships among family members. Family therapy helps family members better understand each other, support each other, and work through difficult situations.
