Treatment for mental illness is based on the severity of the situation. Some mental disorders need medications, whereas others require both psychotherapy and medications. Hello, my name is Chrismene St Jean. I am a dedicated and patient-focused certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with eighteen years of professional experience as a registered nurse. My mission is to provide individualized patient care so that patients can be employed, live independently, and sustain long-term relationships, especially when receiving stable treatment.
Patients can see a significant improvement after six weeks of treatment. But, patients respond in different ways to medication, and no one can tell beforehand how an individual will respond. Sometimes, a person needs to try several medications before finding the right one; therefore, I work together with my patients to find the best medication or medication combination.
Medication Management: The psychiatric evaluation is done in person or telehealth using video and is 60 minutes. Lab work needed to rule out conditions with similar symptoms. Follow-up is 15-20 minutes for medication management.
I focus on treating bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, depression, and schizophrenia.
