(she/her)
My name is Beth Rivet and I love hearing people's stories and helping them feel better about themselves! I have been therapist for 25 plus years and I want to help you! I have worked with clients of all different backgrounds with many different traumas and situations. Whatever is preventing you from moving forward in your life- that is what we need to figure out and sort out. I want to help my clients identify negative thoughts and maladaptive behavior patterns and understand the day to day impact. Understanding what you can and can't change is part of this equation as is recognizing how your thoughts impact your feelings about yourself and those around you. I want you to be the best version of yourself that you can be and I would love to help you find your way there. Promoting self esteem and self confidence by teaching positive coping skills, mindfulness, psycho-education, and self regulation are an essential part of my practice. I hope you will be brave and take that difficult first step to make a positive change in your life. I would love to be your partner in this endeavor. I can't wait to meet you!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then explore the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I will be your advocate and your supporter because I want you to improve yourself and meet your goals to become a healthier, happier you. My background is in substance abuse, addictions, domestic violence, and the secondary problems that result from these conditions. Trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and many chronic health conditions go hand in hand with substance abuse and domestic violence. I have experience with diverse populations and I am prepared to put my energy into understanding your situation and empowering you to take steps toward healthier relationships and lifestyle choices.
I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and adults as well as people struggling with life changes, trauma, anxiety, and addiction. Most of all, I love helping people and I have experience in many areas. I would like to get to know you and hear your story.
I am an empathetic listener and I strive to provide a positive and strength based approach.
