As the owner of Creative Vision Therapy, I strive to help individuals meet their person goals, be in tune with their recovery needs and be willing to make the necessary changes required to live a more healthy and productive life. To visualize ones best life and to help one attain that life provides me with great satisfaction. Ultimately, my goal is to assist my clients to achieve their best quality of life and to manage their mental, physical and emotional health successfully.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The most important part of a first meeting is to build rapport and begin establishing trust. The first session involves some "housekeeping" tasks. This includes (if necessary) completing a diagnostic assessment and treatment plan, setting appropriate boundaries for care, explaining the rules of HIPAA and confidentiality. I like to find out why the client is meeting and what they hope to gain from therapy; better management of mental health symptoms, being able to communicate needs better, resolving complicated grief and generally exploring briefly the individual needs. I tell all my client at the first session that my goal is to get them back on the road to recovery and to help them start a new and better life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach depends on who the individual is and how they like to be approached. For someone who has difficulty expressing themselves, I might need to let them open up more slowly. They may need encouragement to share. Gentle probing might be in order. For an individual that is eager to make change I might push them a bit more to see what they are able to accomplish for themselves with my guidance. For the individual who is mandated to see me, there might be more trust building in order to help them. My greatest strength is my ability to meet a person where they are at, relate to them and help them guide themselves to a successful completion of services.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with older adult women/LGTBQ+ that are experiencing grief, chronic pain, depression. I particularly like to help people overcome anxiety that has been a life long issue. I want to help people overcome fears that keep them from moving forward with life. I have special fondness for people that need treatment that have developmental delays and feel well suited for this as I have worked for much of my adult life in adult foster care. My goal for all the people I see is to find the happiness they deserve to have in this life.
