I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with young adults, adults and older adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and questions around identity, purpose, and self-worth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive, blending CBT, DBT, ACT, Trauma-Informed and compassion-focused work to help clients build insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful change aligned with their values. I aim to create a grounded, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore difficult emotions and patterns without shame. As a therapist with multicultural lived experience, I understand how culture, identity, and life transitions shape emotional well-being, and I bring that awareness into my work. Clients often describe my style as supportive, direct when needed, and focused on both understanding and action.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, history, strengths, and goals so we can begin to build a clear picture of what you are experiencing. You do not need to have everything figured out—this is a space to talk openly and at your own pace. We will also discuss what you would like to get out of therapy and begin identifying priorities for our work together. I may introduce initial coping strategies or reflections, but the main focus is on understanding your needs and creating a foundation for future sessions. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to share only what feels comfortable. By the end of the session, we will begin outlining a direction for treatment, so you have a sense of clarity and next steps moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, grounded, and collaborative presence to sessions, with a strong focus on helping clients feel seen, understood, and supported without judgment. I integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, and compassion-focused therapy in a flexible way that is tailored to each client’s needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. My approach stands out in its balance of insight and practical tools—I help clients both understand the deeper patterns behind their struggles and develop concrete strategies they can use in daily life. I also place strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness, recognizing how identity, culture, and lived experiences shape emotional well-being. Clients often experience me as supportive yet direct when needed, creating a space where they can feel safe while also being gently challenged toward growth, self-awareness, and meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with young adults and adults who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, stress, and questions about identity, purpose, and personal growth. Many of my clients are managing career transitions, adjusting to new roles and responsibilities, balancing work and personal life, or coping with the uncertainty that comes with major life changes. I enjoy working with individuals who want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, build self-confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress and difficult emotions. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, perfectionism, grief and loss, and challenges related to cultural identity, immigration, or belonging. My clients are often seeking greater clarity, emotional balance, and resilience. Together, we work to identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful changes that align with their values and goals. My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client's unique experiences and strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they affect your feelings and actions, and develop more balanced ways of thinking. CBT also helps us recognize behaviors that may be keeping you stuck, such as avoidance, self-criticism, or withdrawal, and replace them with healthier coping strategies. My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you build skills to manage challenges, improve relationships, and increase confidence in yourself.

Compassion Focused

I use Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves. Many people struggle with self-criticism, shame, guilt, or feelings of not being good enough. Together, we explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. I help clients build self-compassion skills, regulate difficult emotions, and respond to challenges with greater understanding and care. The goal is to reduce shame, increase emotional resilience, and cultivate a sense of safety, self-acceptance, and confidence.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I use culturally sensitive therapy to create a safe and respectful space where clients can explore how their cultural background, identity, values, family experiences, and life circumstances shape their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I recognize that culture, race, ethnicity, immigration experiences, religion, gender, and other aspects of identity can influence mental health and well-being. Together, we explore your unique experiences without judgment while honoring your strengths, resilience, and lived experiences. My goal is to provide care that is inclusive, affirming, and responsive to your individual cultural needs and perspectives.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility and build a meaningful life even in the presence of difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT helps clients learn to accept their internal experiences, reduce struggles with unwanted thoughts, and focus on actions that align with their values. Together, we identify what matters most to you, develop mindfulness skills, and practice responding to challenges with greater awareness, self-compassion, and purpose. The goal is to help you create a richer, more fulfilling life guided by your values rather than by fear, avoidance, or self-doubt.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier coping skills. DBT focuses on building practical skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Together, we work on understanding emotional patterns, reducing impulsive or self-defeating behaviors, and learning ways to respond to challenges more effectively. My approach balances acceptance and change, helping clients develop self-awareness, resilience, and the tools needed to navigate life's difficulties with greater confidence and stability.
