Hi there! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Southeast Michigan with ten years of experience supporting individuals on their mental health journeys. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and have worked with clients navigating anxiety, ADHD, Autism, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, PTSD, personality disorders, substance use, relationship challenges, and women’s mental health concerns.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will have a brief introduction and then get into what brings you into therapy. We will be working on your bio-psycho-social assessment where we will be talking about your mental health history as well as many other historical facts that will help me better understand where you are coming from. This session will provide the information needed to create a custom treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My work integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices, such as meditation and behavioral activation. Through CBT, we examine the patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be contributing to stress or distress, helping you gain insight and develop more balanced, constructive ways of thinking. Mindfulness-based practices allow you to build awareness and acceptance of your present experiences, reducing overwhelm and increasing emotional regulation.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have extensive experience supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including individuals exploring identity, coming out, or seeking gender-affirming care. I also work with neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and Autism, navigating systems that aren’t always designed with their needs in mind. I also specialize in women’s mental health, including postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. As a working mother myself, I understand the unique pressures that can come with balancing motherhood, work, and personal well-being, which informs my compassionate approach to supporting parents.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT assumes that our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors. In using this technique, I work with the individual to identify negative or distorted thinking patterns and how they impact how they feel and how they behave. We will work together to challenge those thought patterns and begin to build healthy coping patterns. By using these techniques, I help clients become more aware of their cognitive and behavioral patterns, empowering them to make lasting changes and manage mental health challenges more effectively.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Using a mindfulness approach in therapy focuses on helping clients develop the ability to pay attention to the present moment in a non-judgmental, accepting way. Mindfulness is rooted in the idea of awareness and acceptance, which allows individuals to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without being overwhelmed or reactive to them. In therapy, we will use various mindful techniques such as meditation, body scanning, mindful movement, grounding techniques and emotional regulation to help observe thoughts as they arrive without judgement.
