New to Grow
Welcome! If you're feeling weighed down by life, unmotivated, or stuck in your own thoughts, you are in the right place. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York and licensed professional counselor in the state of New Jersey. I work with adolescents and adults that are experiencing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief-related concerns, and schizophrenia. My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered which allows me to meet clients where they are while supporting meaningful change.
During the first session, we will talk about what brings you into therapy and what some of your goals are. Learning about your history and past mental health experiences allows me to see how I can help you best. This is more of an introduction type of session and it helps us see if we might be a good fit!
My clients have described me as "warm and understanding." I provide a calm and non-judgmental environment while challenging my clients when needed. I use evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and strength- based interventions aimed at symptom reduction, improved coping skills, and functional improvement. With roots in the Jewish community, I bring cultural sensitivity and an informed understanding of identity, values, and lived experience into my clinical work.
I enjoy working with individuals (ages 13+) who are experiencing mental health challenges that impact their daily life. I work best with those navigating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief-related concerns, and schizophrenia. I can provide education about diagnoses, helpful coping skills, and build on insight to help you overcome challenges. If you're ready to make changes in your life, but are unsure where to start, you don't have to figure it out alone!
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) allows us to see how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can influence each other. This method could help improve insight into how the problem is maintained and what changes we could start introducing. Thought patterns are helpful to recognize and challenge when appropriate. Some clients prefer worksheets and homework, while others do not. This is completely up to the client!
Strength-Based
Sometimes it is easier to see the "negatives" in life. The strength-based approach helps us also identify strengths and build up self-esteem and resilience.
