I’m Gail Spinnato, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should be a place where you feel supported, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I bring warmth, compassion, empathy, and a genuine curiosity about the people I work with. I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about the things that may feel difficult, uncomfortable, or even hard to put into words. My approach is strengths-based and person-centered. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—not to tell you how you should feel or what you should do. We’ll work collaboratively to identify what matters most to you, build on the strengths you already have, and move toward the changes you want to make. I move at your pace and believe therapy is most effective when we take things one step at a time. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan and from many different backgrounds and life circumstances. I’ve always been drawn to working with people who may feel unseen, misunderstood, or underrepresented. I especially value creating a space where people can feel accepted for who they are and supported through whatever season of life they are experiencing. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, navigating motherhood or fertility concerns, facing a major life transition, or feeling controlled by OCD or trauma, you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin therapy. You can simply start where you are. We’ll take it from there, together.

If you can read this, you made the first step. Congratulations. Seeking therapy is hard. Most people delay and tell themselves that whatever they are experiencing must be the way life is. Chances are if you have reached the point to begin exploring therapy, counseling can help make your life better. While therapy is often hard, it can be an enjoyable and uplifting experience as well. I believe that you cannot laugh without a combination of insight and relief. You can expect some humor in most sessions. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years. In that time I have worked with men, women, teens, and families on a wide variety of issues. Sometimes that work simply involved helping them through a particular incident or life change that overwhelmed them. Other times our work together centered around longstanding issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. In addition to traditional cognitive behavioral therapy, I also offer a fourth-wave therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have found this technique to be highly effective in helping people with trauma and or anxiety. Our minds and bodies are connected. Anyone who has experienced a tight neck and shoulders or an upset stomach when they were stressed knows this. EFT uses acupressure (done by the client) and cognitive interventions to provide fast and effective relief. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am ready to help you through the challenges you are facing. In addition to counseling, I also provide vocational testing, coaching, and consulting. I provide both Christian and secular counseling depending on the needs of my clients. For clients with high level confidentiality concerns due to corporate or clearance issues, there are ways we can do EFT without you ever speaking out loud about events.

Hi my name is Claire! I am an LCPC providing telehealth therapy to a wide array of clients. My approach relies on a combination of evidence-based theories and collaborative effort. I believe that each individual requires a unique and personally tailored holistic approach that encompasses both the mind and body. Due to this I lean on a variety of theories including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help customize and shape our sessions. I tend to work with adolescents and adults experiencing ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

You've always been the strong one. Right? As a bilingual Asian therapist (English/Mandarin), I currently work as an inpatient mental health clinician at Kaiser Permanente in California, supporting adults through acute mental health crises. Before this, I spent over four years at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Community Psychiatry Program in Baltimore Maryland, where I walked alongside adults through their darkest and brightest chapters — from life’s most overwhelming moments to recovery and the gradual return of joy. Through that experience, I witnessed how someone could radiate warmth for everyone around them while quietly burning out within. I specialize in supporting high-functioning individuals navigating people-pleasing, social anxiety, and interpersonal burnout, whether that shows up as persistent self-doubt, intrusive thoughts that feel impossible to shake, or an overwhelming need to keep others happy at your own expense. You are not alone, and it doesn't have to stay this way. I draw on an integrative approach across CBT, ERP, MI, and EMDR, tailored to who you are, where you have been, and where you want to go, committed to providing a safe and nurturing space for you to explore, heal, and grow. Please note I am only available for therapy appointments on Fridays. Please also note that documentation requests, including FMLA and ESA letters, require a full clinical assessment prior to completion and cannot be guaranteed at intake. In addition, my practice focuses on voluntary, client-initiated therapy. I do NOT provide forensic or court-mandated treatment, including evaluations or treatment ordered as part of legal proceedings. Clients seeking court-ordered services are best served by a provider who specializes in forensic work. Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression or other uncomfortable emotions? Has something happened in your life recently (or even long ago) that is causing you distress, interfering perhaps with your work, school, relationships or otherwise? To begin with, you're not alone! Also, there is help available. I'm Lynn, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Maryland and Florida. I've been a practicing psychotherapist for the past 25 years. Having worked in private practice, hospitals, mental health centers and hospice, I am familiar and comfortable working with all ages, stages of life, sexual orientation, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I have found the single most important factor in achieving successful outcomes in counseling is the connection between therapist and client. Therefore, I strive to bring my authentic, caring, and non judgmental self to each and every encounter I have with my clients. My diverse therapeutic background allows me to use multiple modalities in counseling clients. I strive to tailor my counseling techniques to match each individual's needs. Typically, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy help clients grow, gain insights into their behavior(s) as well as others and gain tools and skills in managing difficult emotions or situations in their lives. Deciding to enter into counseling can be a scary thought for many. If you are thinking about therapy, I encourage you to give yourself the gift of self-care and good mental and emotional health by taking that first step. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Maryland. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Maryland from Hagerstown to Ocean City! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Maryland.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), is filtering therapists in Maryland that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
