You’ve done therapy before. You got insight. Maybe even some relief. And then you ended up right back in the same patterns. That’s the work I do. I work with adults dealing with eating disorders, trauma, burnout, and the kind of “functional” that looks fine from the outside but is not sustainable. Most of my clients are not new to therapy. They are frustrated that what helped didn’t hold. I have over 25 years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, and private practice, including higher levels of care in eating disorder treatment. I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina, and I hold advanced certifications in eating disorders, trauma, and DBT. This is a telehealth practice designed to be structured, direct, and for people who are done circling the same insight without change.
The first session is not a full history. It is a working session (though I will ask you a ton of questions and try to get the info I need to help). We focus on three things: • What you have already tried • What has not worked • What is still repeating You do not need to do anything ahead of time. My job is to help you start seeing the pattern, not collect every detail. By the end of the session, you should have: • A clearer sense of what is actually maintaining the problem • Initial direction for how we would approach it • A realistic sense of whether this is a good fit The tone is direct, structured, and non-judgmental. We will not rush, but we also will not stay at the surface.
My biggest strengths are my expertise and openness. I have been doing this for over 20 years and have certifications in eating disorders, DBT, and trauma, and really enjoy working with clients who have these struggles. Whatever your reason for coming to therapy, I hope I can be a compassionate presence, provide insight & perspective, and collaborate with you to make healthy changes in your life.
Eating Disorders & Trauma, disorders of over-control (like major depression, anxiety, OCD or anorexia) and/or under-regulation (bipolar disorder, bulimia).
I identify as
Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have been working with DBT throughout my career and was certified in 2017. The skills based approach works for a lot of people, and I really appreciate the focus on genuineness, honesty, and mindfulness alongside those skills.
Compassion Focused
Without compassion, the world is a very bleak place - compassion has an important part to play in all of our interactions, not just therapy, and with our own self perception. Though integral to all aspects of my work with clients, I especially appreciate it as a trauma informed, HAES aligned concept for working with body image issues and perfectionism.

I am sorry I could only pick 2. She gives me tasks to work on that really make me think during the week. She is not pushy when I don't make it rather she redirects me to get where I want and need to be. As a post bariatric, anxiety riddled, over functioning person, she is just the perspective I need. And I could not be more grateful for Kendra's role in my walk.
