Hi, I’m Amanda, a licensed professional counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky, offering virtual therapy for adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, and life transitions.

I often integrate techniques from CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, but I believe the real heart of therapy is the therapeutic relationship.

I create a warm, collaborative space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

First session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. In our first session, my goal is to help you feel at ease and supported, not judged, rushed, or overwhelmed. We’ll begin with an open conversation about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear plan, that’s part of what we’ll figure out together. I’ll ask a few questions to learn more about you, your background, and what your day-to-day looks like. If you’ve never been to therapy before, I’ll explain how the process works and answer any questions you have. If you’ve been in therapy before, we’ll talk about what worked or didn’t work in the past so we can build a process that feels right for you. By the end of the session, we’ll talk about next steps and set a direction for our work together based on your needs and goals. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and with a sense that you don’t have to navigate things alone anymore. This is your space, and we’ll move at your pace.

Strengths

I bring warmth, humor, and compassion into therapy so you feel safe, seen, and supported to grow. I’m experienced in helping clients untangle their thoughts, better understand their emotions, and get to the root of what’s keeping them stuck. I help you make sense of what’s happening and move toward meaningful change. We don’t just talk about problems we build insight, explore patterns, and identify practical steps toward healing and growth. I approach therapy by meeting you exactly where you are. I won’t push you to go deeper before you’re ready or stick rigidly to a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I adapt my approach to your needs and pace, combining evidence-based tools with a relational, person-centered lens. I often integrate techniques from CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, but I believe the real heart of therapy is the therapeutic relationship.

Ideal clients

Do you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you’re constantly overthinking everything? Maybe you’ve always been the one who keeps it together, the dependable friend, the achiever, the one who doesn’t ask for help. But lately, it feels like you’re barely holding it all together inside. Do you lie awake at night replaying conversations, second-guessing your decisions, or feeling like you’re not doing enough, no matter how much you try? Maybe you're pushing yourself to succeed in school, work, or relationships, but still feel like something’s missing. You might look like you’re managing from the outside, but inside you’re tired, anxious, and unsure of what to do next. Do you ever wonder who you really are, or who you’re supposed to be? You might be questioning your direction, your goals, or your identity. Maybe you’re in a transition: starting college, adjusting to adulthood, moving to a new city, ending a relationship, or starting your career. Even positive changes can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to manage everything on your own. You want more clarity, confidence, and peace but you're not sure where to begin. If any of this sounds like you, therapy can help. You don’t have to wait for things to get worse to reach out.

Treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

In practice, I use MI to help clients explore their own values, goals, and internal motivations, rather than imposing change from the outside. I believe that people are more likely to commit to lasting change when they feel heard and empowered in the process. MI allows me to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can examine their ambivalence, weigh pros and cons, and begin to build momentum toward the changes they want to make.
