Salutations! I am a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner in Texas. I obtained my Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, and have been practicing for the past 10 years. During this time I have worked at a large community clinic focusing on providing services to low income and homeless populations around the Austin area, as well as in a private practice setting. Although my early professional experience was primarily focused on medication management, my goal with Grow Therapy is to provide individualized treatment plans that focus on therapeutic elements first, and medications second.
Initial sessions usually take about an hour to complete. During our first visit, we will take time to become acquainted with each other, and explore current mental health symptoms and possible environmental factors that are causing challenges and/or distress. We will also have an in-depth examination of your history including your medical history, as well as any previous psychiatric history. Using this information, we will formulate a comprehensive treatment plan together for future visits.
My diverse professional experience has helped me develop a comprehensive approach that examines the impact of socioeconomic factors, family history, as well as your medical history to develop a collaborative treatment plan
Thanks to my varied work experience, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals from a diverse range of populations, and feel best positioned to serve anyone struggling with mental health symptoms regardless race, religion, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation.
Having trained, and worked in a diverse array of practice settings, I have learned to integrate a myriad of therapeutic approaches focused both on therapy and medication management
Having worked in a variety of clinical settings over the past 10 years, I have quickly learned that every person is different, biologically, psychologically, and experientially, and have based my approach to treatment with my clients on this knowledge.
As practitioner of daily meditation over the past two decades, and seeing the benefits personally, I have been incorporating meditation and mindfulness into my treament approach
My experience in multiple roles, from direct care to prescriber, in multiple settings focused on providing care to individuals that have experienced trauma, in the past and presently, has helped shape my practice in being mindful of the impact of trauma while building rapport and developing treatment plans
