I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 years of experience in the field. I consider it a privilege to be invited alongside you on this journey. I have worked with a vast variety of clients including young children, school-aged children, adults, school systems and detention centers. I am passionate about helping others to return to their true self and recognize inner resilience. My experience has allowed me to walk alongside others in a variety of situations including depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, major life changes, relationship issues, and coping with grief and loss and trauma. *Please see below regarding scheduling and availability. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and tailored to meet the needs of each individual with a strong focus on relationship and connection. I offer online therapeutic support so that you can participate from the comfort of any in-state location. My goal is to collaborate with you and I hope to assist in encouraging and promoting resilience & strength, self-acceptance, development of insight, increased understanding, peace, self-love and growth. In our work together I hope to assist each individual in developing meaningful and healthy relationships with self and others, to engage in the process of self-reflection, self-validation and self-confrontation through a lens of integrity with the goal of being the best version of ourselves during the journey. I am particularly passionate about helping communities of color and disadvantaged populations. I believe that often these communities are overlooked due to unique challenges within the culture and community. I will walk alongside you providing encouragement and support as you work towards effective change and growth. *In regards to scheduling and availability, at this time I am only able to provide monthly or bi-weekly sessions. If weekly sessions are needed or desired due to the severity of symptoms or client request, unfortunately at this time my schedule will not allow me to accommodate. Additionally, I am only able to accept individual therapy sessions and am currently unable to accept couples or family therapy sessions/appointments.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will get to know each other. As the client, you will have an opportunity to ask about my style of working and communication and I will inquire about symptoms or behaviors that you want to work on reducing. A general intake evaluation will be completed and we will engage in a gentle conversation regarding if it is a good fit or if a different approach would be more beneficial for your goals and participation in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Offering authenticity and compassion from a non-judgmental approach, recognizing the inner resilience within, empowerment, encouraging growth through discomfort, embracing our true selves with compassion and understanding.

My treatment methods

Supportive

Whether experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, upcoming life choices, sense of purpose or increasing self-esteem, in therapy we can work together to start to identify the triggers that cause the symptoms experienced, find ways of positively reframing the experience and learn (and utilizing) productive and positive coping skills to help to manage and reduce negative symptoms. As a clinician of color I enjoy working with clients to address the systematic inequality that are often prevalent in various environments and to help heal the trauma that has caused many to distrust the mental health field. My hope is to be a welcome space where one does not feel the burden of needing to explain experiences as a person of color and to help foster connection and healing in all that collaborate together with me.
