Brittany Martin
Hello there, I'm Brittany. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. I attended Manual High School and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2011 with my BSN. Since then I have worked as an ICU nurse until July of this year. I worked at Norton HospitaI for 3 years before becoming a travel nurse. I traveled to Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego and have lived in Santa Barbara for the past 3 years. Lastly, I obtained my masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University and became a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner this year.
I am passionate about helping fellow healthcare nurses and physicians who have now become the profession with the highest suicidal rate.
I know the struggles we have all experienced as bedside nurses during the pandemic. I have personally seen many of us suffer and even lost dear co-workers. This is the very reason I want to offer special pricing to those who have continued to witness tragedy. I am seeing cash patients as of now via Telehealth (superbill provided). All ages 4 to geriatrics welcome! Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation, ADHD, bipolar, OCD, PTSD, alcohol use, etc. I look forward to getting to work with each and every one of you!
First session
In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction and go through your mental health, social and physical history. We will develop goals and create a tailored medication plan to meet your needs.
Strengths
I am passionate about helping fellow healthcare nurses and physicians who have now become the profession with the highest suicidal rate. Recent reports show that mental health amongst physicians and frontline workers has been affected by the pandemic. Fear of exposure and transmission, staff shortages, inadequate personal protective equipment, and watching patients die alone has led to burnout and stress leading to PTSD. These are vital professions that have experienced a great amount of stress and responsibility leading to deterioration of our mental health. I hope to help anyone who is struggling and feels medications can alleviate symptoms.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve individuals struggling with anxiety and depression who are ready for meaningful change and support. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of overthinking, low motivation, or emotional exhaustion, and are looking for relief as well as a deeper understanding of themselves. I work well with those who may be functioning on the outside but are internally battling persistent worry, sadness, or a sense of disconnection. My approach is especially helpful for individuals who are open to exploring both biological and psychological aspects of their symptoms, and who are motivated to build practical tools for managing their mood, improving daily functioning, and creating a more balanced, fulfilling life.
