(she/her)
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn, and I’ve been working as a licensed mental health therapist for the past nine years in various different settings. I have experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, but I especially enjoy working with children, teens, young adults, and other Millenials like myself. I specialize in helping clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and family-related stress. I am passionate about creating an affirming, inclusive space for all clients, including those who identify as LGBTQ+ and individuals who are neurodiverse. My goal is to ensure each person feels seen, respected, and supported just as they are. My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and play-based interventions, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and developmental level of the client. I know that reaching out for help takes courage, and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients through difficult or uncertain times. Whether it’s learning to manage overwhelming emotions, strengthening relationships, or building self-understanding, I aim to help clients feel more confident, resilient, and empowered. My hope is not just to reduce symptoms, but to support real, lasting growth in everyday life.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and beginning to build a foundation of trust. While I’ll be asking questions to better understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy, I always prioritize creating a safe, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. I know that the first session can feel a little overwhelming or uncertain, so I take care to make it as relaxed and supportive as possible. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and respected — not judged or rushed. I’ll also explain how therapy works, answer any questions you may have, and check in often to make sure you feel okay with the process.
I believe what sets me apart is my ability to balance clinical skill with genuine human connection. I meet clients where they are, whether they’re talkative or guarded, overwhelmed or unsure, and work to build a relationship that feels safe, supportive, and real. I take time to truly understand each person’s experience, not just their symptoms, and I adapt my approach to fit their needs, pace, and communication style. I bring a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. I blend structure with flexibility, using creativity, humor, and compassion to help clients engage in meaningful work, even when it’s hard. I’m also intentional about being inclusive and affirming, especially for neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ clients, and I create space for clients to show up exactly as they are.
I work best with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to manage big emotions, whether that’s anxiety, sadness, anger, or the weight of life transitions. Many of my clients are in varying stages of life, and may be navigating school or work stress, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or family conflict. Some have ADHD, mood disorders, or trauma histories that make everyday life feel harder than it should. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who are doing their best to keep it together on the outside while struggling on the inside — those who might avoid feelings, bottle things up, or feel pressure to “just be okay.” Whether you're trying to figure out who you are, heal from the past, or build healthier ways to cope, I provide a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, confidence, and a sense of control in your life.

I support young children and their parents/caregivers by strengthening the parent-child relationship as a resource for healing, especially in the context of trauma or attachment disruptions. I also use play (Play Therapy) as a therapeutic tool to help children express emotions, process experiences, and develop problem-solving and coping skills in an age-appropriate way.
I help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to promote healthier coping strategies and emotional well-being. I also use creative and action-oriented techniques such as role play or guided imagery to help clients access and process deep emotional experiences.
I integrate DBT skills such as distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support clients in managing intense emotions and building resilience. I also incorporate mindfulness practices to help clients build awareness, stay present, and develop healthier responses to stress and emotional challenges.
I blend elements from different therapeutic approaches to offer a holistic and flexible method that aligns with each client’s goals and values. I often highlight clients’ inherent strengths and abilities, fostering empowerment and confidence as they work toward their goals. I provide clients with information and tools to better understand their mental health, empowering them to take an active role in their healing process.
I provide a supportive, empathic, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore and affirm their gender identity. This includes helping individuals navigate social, emotional, medical, and relational aspects of their gender journey. I offer validation, education, and advocacy while addressing co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. My approach centers on each client’s self-defined goals and lived experiences, recognizing the impact of societal stigma and promoting resilience and self-acceptance.
