About me

I’m Samantha Adams, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, and I’m passionate about walking alongside people as they work through life’s challenges. I believe you are the expert of your own story, and my role is to provide support, understanding, and tools to help you find healing and balance. My style is warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth, creating a safe space where you can process the past, build on your strengths, and move toward the life you want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and creating a safe, comfortable space for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions about your background, current concerns, and what you hope to get out of our work together, but there’s no pressure—you can share at your own pace. We’ll also talk about what therapy might look like moving forward and begin setting goals together, so you leave with a sense of direction and support from the very start.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and understood. I combine warmth and compassion with a direct, solution-focused approach, helping you feel supported while also encouraging growth and change. I draw from a variety of methods—including CBT, ACT, EMDR, and attachment-based work—so I can tailor therapy to your unique needs. Clients often share that they feel empowered, gain clarity, and leave with practical tools they can use right away in their daily lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. Many of the people I work with are searching for stability, clarity, and a deeper understanding of themselves, including how their past experiences shape their present. I’m especially well-suited to support those who want to process trauma, improve relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. If your goal is to feel more grounded, confident, and connected—to yourself and others—I’m here to help guide that journey.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy helps you explore how your early relationships shaped the way you connect with others today. Together, we look at patterns of trust, safety, and closeness in your life and work toward building healthier, more secure relationships. This approach creates a supportive space where you can heal past wounds and strengthen your ability to feel connected and understood.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, solution-focused approach that helps you recognize and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. It’s based on the idea that how you think affects how you feel and what you do. In therapy, you’ll learn tools to challenge negative thinking, build healthier coping skills, and create lasting changes in your mood and daily life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you to learn how to accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while focusing on what truly matters to you. Through mindfulness and values-based strategies, you’ll develop skills to handle life’s challenges more effectively and take meaningful steps toward the life you want. It’s about building flexibility, resilience, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy is a supportive approach that focuses on you as the expert of your own life. In a safe, nonjudgmental space, the therapist offers empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard to help you explore your feelings and experiences. The goal is to strengthen your self-awareness, self-acceptance, and confidence so you can make choices that align with your true self.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the impact past trauma can have on your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In therapy, we create a safe, supportive environment where you feel respected and empowered, with an emphasis on trust and choice. The goal is to help you heal at your own pace while building resilience and a greater sense of control in your life.
