Since 2011, I have pursued the field of Psychology and Mental Health with great passion. Throughout this time, I have had the privilege and honor of working with diverse populations with an approach that focuses on the individual. I continue to gain insight, knowledge and skills within the field of Mental Health and recognize the importance of continuing education. I am, and have always been drawn to understanding the human condition and behaviors that may contribute to an individual’s personal struggle. I believe that the therapeutic process is highly beneficial and effective in providing healing, self-insight, wisdom, understanding, acceptance, knowledge and so much more. I have found that utilizing multiple therapeutic approaches allows for individuality within treatment and the therapeutic relationship. I typically utilize concepts related to Depth Psychology, Mindfulness Practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); Motivational Interviewing (MI); Solution Focused Therapy, and Existential therapy. It is my understanding that all behavior is purposeful and allows an individual to obtain personal needs and desires. However, at times, these behaviors may be maladaptive and cause an individual distress. Through the therapeutic process we will explore these patterns and discover ways in which an individual can live a rewarding and meaningful life.
Within the first session we will get to know each other, explore goals for therapy and explore the best fit regarding treatment modalities and what works best for you as an individual.
I believe that each individual is unique and an expert on themselves. Within the therapeutic relationship, each individual is able to gain a greater insight, acceptance and understanding of self. I utilize a client-centered approach to therapy as well as tailoring therapy and corresponding techniques based on a client’s unique personality, desires, and goals for treatment.
Through the utilization of DBT interventions, client will be able to prove interpersonal relationships, increase distress tolerance and improve emotional regulation.
Clients who may be struggling with substance use disorders may find this technique helpful to explore dissonance within addictive behaviors.
Through the utilization of Jungian informed therapy, individuals are able to explore unconscious material which may be impacting inter/intrapersonal relationships.
Clients will find the utilization of REBT in the management of symptoms related to multiple conditions such as anger related difficulties, emotion regulation and more.
Clients have been able to challenge problematic thought processes and challenge faulty or maladaptive thinking processes.
