Hello there. Have you been struggling with emotional turmoil or feelings of emptiness? That "I just can't get anything right feeling"? Are you overwhelmed with everyday life, and struggling to stay afloat? I am happy to help! I have 25 years of Nursing experience in various capacities, 7 years of which have been dedicated to the field of psychiatry, and board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2022. My passion is caring for others, and I am driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those I come in contact with. My mission is to extend compassion and promote healing that comes from Christ. My goal is to provide treatment that is culturally sensitive, competent, safe, and efficient. A little more about me: I have a deep appreciation for the tropics, and the ocean is my favorite place. I enjoy relaxation, spending time with my family, and embracing my creative side in home interior design. Why psychiatry? : I developed a true appreciation for psychiatry after experiencing life-changing challenges of my own and gained the support needed from some of the most amazing compassionate providers I know. In return, I desire to extend hope and the same compassion in the lives of those who are experiencing emotional or mental health struggles. My approach: My approach is sensitive, warm, and welcoming. A partnered and supportive approach that will give you peace of mind. I believe in taking a natural, spiritual, and conventional approach, and if medication is an option I believe in taking a start low, go slow most effective approach. I am also dedicated to lifelong learning as a provider, so I can provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based, safe, and effective care to those I serve.
During our initial visit, a thorough evaluation and diagnosis will influence therapeutic strategies including talk therapy, faith-based therapy, medications, and psychosocial interventions, where appropriate.
As a psychiatric provider, I provide holistic care that is personal and geared toward your individual needs. Which may include some elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, crisis response, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness techniques as appropriate in our sessions, and will coordinate referrals to a therapist, and other providers whose services can be beneficial to your treatment and healing. I am also a firm believer in the relationship between both body and mind and how one affects the other.
Whether you are struggling with emotional stressors, dysregulated mood, feeling pulled in a million directions, unable to fit it all in, struggling to keep up with your relationships, work, school, and health, burdened by anxiety, and depression, or have endured trauma that continues to wreak havoc in your life, I can help you. Using an approach, that is considerate of the mind, body, and spirit, together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to a place of balance, and feeling whole once more. Seeking treatment can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. Let's work together!
