I am a licensed therapist, with clinical social work background based in Florida, but also licensed in Texas. I’ve worked in a variety of levels of care, in mental health, addiction and eating disorder fields. I specialize in trauma resolution, treating eating disorders, addressing body image, specifically through a social-justice lens, HAES-aligned and LGBTQ+ friendly. My approach integrates holistic, expressive, Internal Family Systems, attachment theory and traditional evidence-based approaches. I have had a broad experience working with all ages, from 4-75 years old. I received my Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2014. During graduate school and since graduation, my focus has been on trauma resolution. I was initially trained in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy and now in Rapid Resolution therapy, which is an approach that achieves memory reconsolidation without re-traumatization in as few as 1-2 sessions. This brain-based healing approach integrates neurolinguistic programming and hypnosis. I was trained in Rapid Resolution therapy from 2017-2019 and have used the approach in individual, family and group therapy. With some clients, we might use some traditional talk therapy and integrate some of the brain-based approaches during some sessions. We can discuss these approaches and collaborate in treatment planning. I am passionate about helping my clients experience peace, relief from effects of past trauma, body liberation, food freedom and recovery from eating disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session you can expect to get to know each other, help me to understand the issues you are concerned with, background that might be helpful and discuss therapy goals and approaches. You are welcome and encouraged to ask questions you might have and share what you’ve found helpful, or not, in past therapy sessions

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Some of the modalities I use in sessions are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ERP, Internal Family systems and Cognitive therapies as well as alternatives to traditional talk therapy such as hypnotherapy and neurolinguistic programming. Additionally, I love to include expressive techniques during sessions if a client is interested in integrating music and/or art into our therapeutic work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are my abilities to be both direct and compassionate in challenging moments. A therapeutic relationship is a valuable experience that can help us in our relationships outside of therapy. Understanding issues from an attachment or developmental perspective is a strength of mine, which I share with clients so that they might have greater understanding and self-compassion.
