I’m a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Bethel Psychiatry, and I specialize in helping individuals manage mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges. I offer a combination of therapy and medication management tailored to each person's unique needs, working collaboratively to help you feel better and live a more fulfilling life. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me at Bethel Psychiatry, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where we will discuss your concerns, mental health history, and goals for treatment. I’ll take time to understand your unique situation, assess your symptoms, and explore how they’re affecting your daily life. Together, we’ll develop a plan that may include therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, and ensure that we create a treatment approach that feels comfortable and effective for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths are my empathetic listening, my ability to create a safe, non-judgmental space, and my commitment to offering individualized, evidence-based care. I am skilled at building strong therapeutic relationships and work collaboratively with my patients to develop treatment plans that are tailored to their unique needs. My approach combines both compassion and clinical expertise, ensuring that patients feel supported while also receiving effective, goal-oriented treatment.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I am best positioned to serve individuals across the lifespan, from children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, ADHD, or trauma, to adults managing depression, anxiety, and life transitions, to older adults coping with age-related mental health challenges like grief, depression, and cognitive decline. My approach combines evidence-based therapy and medication management tailored to each individual’s developmental stage, emotional needs, and cultural background, helping them achieve better mental health and a higher quality of life.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

At Bethel Psychiatry, I take a holistic, patient-centered approach to treating individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. As a PMHNP, I recognize that every patient’s journey is unique, and I strive to integrate both psychotherapeutic methods and medication management to deliver personalized care.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a cornerstone of treatment at Bethel Psychiatry, especially for patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, and Depression. In my practice, I utilize CBT techniques to help patients identify, challenge, and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to their anxiety. By helping patients recognize cognitive distortions (e.g., catastrophizing, overgeneralizing), we can start the process of changing those negative thought patterns.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

At Bethel Psychiatry, I utilize Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) primarily to support children and their caregivers dealing with trauma, emotional distress, and attachment issues. With CPP, I work with both the child and the parent(s) in a collaborative, dyadic approach to strengthen their emotional bond, improve communication, and address trauma-related behaviors. I integrate trauma-informed strategies to help parents understand and respond to their child’s emotional needs, fostering a secure attachment and improving overall family dynamics. This approach is particularly effective for children who have experienced early childhood trauma, attachment disruptions, or behavioral difficulties.

Multicultural

At Bethel Psychiatry, I integrate multicultural therapy to provide culturally responsive care that acknowledges and respects the unique backgrounds, beliefs, and values of each patient. I ensure that treatment is tailored to the individual's cultural context, recognizing how factors such as ethnicity, religion, immigration status, and socioeconomic background influence mental health. By fostering cultural humility and open dialogue, I create a safe space where patients feel understood and supported, which enhances the therapeutic relationship and promotes effective healing.
