(she/her)
Hi, I’m Marina Mosson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and have dedicated my career to guiding people through life’s challenges with compassion and expertise. I believe that each person already has the inner strengths and resilience needed to navigate difficult moments—sometimes we just need support in uncovering and strengthening them. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change in your life. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. At the same time, I provide thoughtful insight and gentle guidance to help you work through complex emotions, relationships, and decisions. My approach is tailored to your unique needs and draws from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Brainspotting. I am committed to ongoing learning and professional growth so I can provide you with the highest quality care. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for change, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
As we begin our work together, my you can expect my full attention and a safe, supportive space to explore your concerns. I prioritize open discussions about the presenting issue while also taking the time to build a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and collaboration.
With many years of experience working with individuals across all stages of life, I provide the necessary tools to help you manage life’s challenges effectively. My professional background includes work in homeless shelters, social service agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, and veterans’ services, allowing me to provide support for diverse needs and experiences.
My focus is strength-based and person-centered. I have a special place in my heart for clients who are survivors of toxic relationships and find it important to work together through past trauma, finding peace and learning new skills to move forward. I also work with clients dealing with anxiety disorders, mild to moderate depression, ADHD and relationship issues by utilizing a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy to provide interventions and support. My methods promote healing and desired change in a unique, gentle and respectful manner. Compassion, empathy and non-judgmental atmosphere is the core of my therapeutic approach.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Through ACT, I help individuals accept the difficulties that come with life. I teach mindfulness skills to deal with painful thoughts and feelings effectively so that they have less impact and influence. I also help individuals clarify what is truly important and meaningful to them (their values) and use that knowledge to guide, inspire, and motivate change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help my clients challenge and reframe negative thoughts by examining beliefs. We set specific behavioral goals and work on achieving them through homework assignments.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I help clients shift from feeling stuck to finding solutions by focusing on their strengths, setting clear goals, and taking small, manageable steps toward the life, they want.
