About me

Hi, I'm Marina, Reaching out for therapy can be one of the hardest steps to take, and I know that many people come to their first session feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you can exhale, feel accepted, and know you don't have to figure everything out alone. With over 18 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I've had the privilege of helping people through anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and many of life's unexpected twists. Over the years, I've learned that no two people are alike, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in their growth. I won't just sit quietly and nod—I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback when it's helpful, and work alongside you to help you better understand yourself and create meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

As we begin our work together, you can expect my full attention and a safe, supportive space to explore your concerns. I prioritize open discussions about the presenting issue while also taking the time to build a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and collaboration. I believe that every person already has strengths they may not even recognize. Sometimes life's challenges make it difficult to see them. Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, build practical tools that fit your life, and help you move toward the life you want to create.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Brainspotting. Most importantly, I tailor therapy to you—not the other way around. Whether you're feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply looking for a place where you can be yourself without judgment, I'd be honored to support you. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We'll take it one step at a time, together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My focus is strength-based and person-centered. I have a special place in my heart for clients who are survivors of toxic relationships and find it important to work together through past trauma, finding peace and learning new skills to move forward. I also work with clients dealing with anxiety disorders, mild to moderate depression, ADHD and relationship issues by utilizing a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy to provide interventions and support. My methods promote healing and desired change in a unique, gentle and respectful manner. Compassion, empathy and non-judgmental atmosphere is the core of my therapeutic approach.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Through ACT, I help you accept the difficulties that come with life. I teach mindfulness skills to deal with painful thoughts and feelings effectively so that they have less impact and influence. I also help you clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you (your values) and use that knowledge to guide, inspire, and motivate change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore how patterns of thinking may be contributing to emotional distress, relationship challenges, anxiety, low mood and stress.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help you shift from feeling stuck to finding solutions by focusing on your strengths, setting clear goals, and taking small, manageable steps toward the life, you want. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I combine evidence-based techniques with genuine conversation, helping you better understand yourself while developing realistic tools you can use in everyday life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a Rogerian (person-centered) approach to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. By offering empathy, genuine connection, and unconditional positive regard, I help you build self-awareness, trust in yourself, and confidence to make lasting changes that align with your values.
