Jose Rincon Salazar
I have several years of experience in the field, working with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe clients are experts in their lives and have the internal resources and strengths to make change possible. I am client-centered and informed in various approaches, including IFS, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy, to help clients heal. I look forward to getting to work together with you in achieving your goals.
First session
In our first session, I will ask questions related to different aspects of your lived experience to try and understand as much as I can about who you are and what is important to you. Together, we will explore goals for treatment and think about how we can achieve them. Additionally, it is an opportunity for you to also get an intuitive sense if I am a good fit for you and what you are needing from a therapist. I try to make the intake as relational and collaborative as possible; an Intake shouldn't feel like I am just asking you questions and checking off boxes in a form.
Strengths
I utilize a variety of approaches including IFS, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy. However, therapy is not a one size fits all treatment. What is most important for me is to develop a trusting relationship with my clients for them to feel safe, heard, and comfortable to open up in session with me.
Ideal clients
I have worked with clients who have either had therapy in the past and are returning to therapy after some time, or clients are new to therapy entirely. I enjoy working with clients who are open to treatment and have some insight into what has been challenging for them to live the life they want for themselves. I enjoy working with clients who are facing concerns related to depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, or difficult life transitions.
