About me

I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University and am a licensed psychologist. I have many years of experience working with families, particularly those who have a child with a disability. I have worked in both clinical and school settings, which has given me the opportunity to support children and families in a variety of settings. I also have experience treating adults with developing coping skills in dealing with anxiety and depression.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will begin to get to know each other, and identify the initial goals of therapy. At the end of out first session, we will discuss our therapeutic plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with families and adolescents with disabilities over the past 20 + years, I have developed a strong skill set in identifying challenges and forming a treatment plan. I focus on helping both the child or adolescent along with the family system. I also have many years of experience supporting and treating adults suffering from anxiety.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with families who are struggling with navigating school and life in general with a child with a disability. In addition to supporting the family, I also offer therapeutic support to the child or adolescent as well. I also enjoy helping adults who are experiencing anxiety or depression, and need support in developing tools for navigating life's challenges.

The goal is to improve self esteem, and to guide you towards mindful relationship choices.

Relational

Relational based therapy, coupled with cognitive behavioral techniques allow for exploration of negative patterns of behavior that have led to unhealthy life choices. The focus of therapy is on increasing self awareness and self esteem, with the goal of building healthier relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying negative thinking patterns, and changing unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. CBT techniques can be used in conjunction with relational and interpersonal models.

I am very interested in using the 1-5 rating scale to begin training on noticing when my thoughts need to be intervened. I am thoroughly self-reflective, but sometimes I allow others to disrupt or distort my self-awareness and confidence.
